"I would definitely look elsewhere for conveyancy services to be honest. We hired John, and it started fairly well, courteous and reasonably prompt to reply by email. When our case started to get more complex, it was really bad service. He was unable to answer or return phone calls, and everything was via email where a lot of questions were left unanswered, leading to significant delays. We had feedback from the vendor solicitor on this point as well, which meant progress ground to a trickle. We missed mortgage deadlines, and we missed interest rate hike deadlines, and having John meant we had to spend a lot of time chasing. It was a very stressful time, and cost us a lot of money with the missed deadlines. I can only assume be became too busy with higher profile or simpler work. The only reason for the extra star is that after months when we said enough is enough and we needed to fire him, he promptly passed the files to the new solicitor and agreed not to charge us. The new solicitor was brilliant, dealing quickly with all the more challenging issues tactfully, and calling us to keep us updated and assured every step of the way."
