"I did a plc in journalism and graduated this year. The course was excellent but tough at times. Eight modules is quite a lot but you can drop one. All bar one professor was helpful and provided feedback to me and answered any questions I had on a topic. You need five distinctions in order to apply to the college course you want. My class size was small (around 5-6). My classmates were friendly enough. It was easy to work with them when working in a group setting. If I were to make a complaint about the college, it would be about the canteen. To put it bluntly, it's horrible. There are/was only one canteen lady throughout my entire stay there and 9/10 food would run out by the first ten minutes of lunch. I'd always bring a homemade lunch with me but I often felt like the food services provided by the college were inadequate. I'm not sure if it's a staffing problem or not enough funds, but the canteen seriously lets down the college in a big way. The chairs are uncomfortable and often times, there are not enough tables for people to sit and have lunch. At times, the students and atmosphere in the college made me feel isolated but I'm not sure if it's because I'm shy or if it had something to do with Covid, but maybe my year was unlucky. Overall, a fantastic college with a huge variety of plcs but lacks the funds/staff needed for the small but important details. Attached below, is a video I made as part as one of my modules. Hope y'all enjoy it "
"I’ve done an evening beginner woodworking course and had a lot of fun. Check out the course schedule - they have a huge variety."
"A very nice college, small classes are great for individual help by the teacher. Teachers were very nice and helpful, and I really enjoyed the course in Software Development. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions it was difficult to have proper in-person classes which interfered with my learning. More effort could have been invested into teaching some of the modules of the course. Other than that, I would highly recommend doing Software Development at DFEI or doing a PLC course similar to this before going into a University course."
"Friendly staff, easy to get to from the city centre via the local DART service. The only downside was the cafeteria. The food was awful so I and a few other students would head elsewhere outside the college for lunch. Luckily the college happens to be located right in the heart of Dun Laoghaire town centre so there are plenty of alternatives for food nearby. Overall, I would recommend."
"Fantastic facilities and teachers. I really enjoyed the experience."
