Reviews
"I have been holding off making this review for a long time and after each experience I think I should and today has confirmed this is needed. Whenever I bring in a Evri parcel to drop off and a man called Tommy is behind the counter I dread it. I am always polite and say hello, I have a parcel to drop off please. And EVERYSINGLE time without fail I get a death glare, followed by a huff. I always get a blunt 'put the parcel over there' and 'name'. Never a thank you. However today topped it off. I dropped off a parcel with the usual above behaviour (after he stopped scrolling on his phone). I had a parcel to collect, I said my name and he huffed around till he found it. He then asked me for ID, I was unaware I needed ID as when I collected a few days ago I was not asked. My fault completely, I would have understood if I was refused the parcel. However instead he shouted sarcastically "You always need ID when collecting a parcel". He then threw the parcel across the counter. This man is an UTTER embarrassment to the co-op and makes me dread going into this shop. I am unsure why management put up with this to be honest as I know I am not the only one who had made comments about him in the past."
"Tommy (who used to work at McColls) is awful, a proper nasty character and despises you for taking parcels, and gave me a right ticking off about buying things online. The rest of the staff are lovely though, and feel sorry for them having to put up with him, no idea how they employed him. If you don't have tommy though, they are quick helpful and reliable."
"Slowest shop on Earth. You'd be better off walking to Banbury to buy stuff, it'd be infinitely quicker."
"Just been into Co-op and wanted to return a parcel with Hermes/Evri which is a service offered. When I placed the parcel down on the counter and politely asked to return it Tommy the cashier stared at the parcel then gave us a death glare. When I confronted him about it he denied it. It’s not the first time, he made a narky comment last week when collecting an item and seemed to have the same attitude when he worked at Martin McColls in town before it closed. The fella seems to have a real issue with the parcel service. It made us feel uncomfortable and we will now travel out of town before returning to the co-op. It’s a shame because I’m in there almost everyday and all the other staff are brilliant."
"My wife asked me to take something to Coop to return via the Hermes service, as I walked in the old man on the till, Tommy, was shaking his head and rolling his eyes. Asked him if I could post my parcel to which he replied "you're not posting it you're doing a collection" as he kept huffing and tutting at me. Asked him if there was a problem, he simply said that if I wanted to post something I'd have to take it to the post office. Turns out all he had to do was scan it and write the date and number of parcels on a little slip of paper and hand it to me. Must have been hard work for him. The staff in there used to be really nice but it's gone downhill lately."
