"Got car MOT'ed here on 27/02 and it failed on its front lower suspension arm ball joint being excessively worn. Estimate for work required was c.£280 incl VAT. I got the work done elsewhere for £108 incl VAT. Nagingtons then retested the vehicle for me on 28/02 per the standard 10 days grace on MOT retesting. This is not the first time that Nagingtons has given me an estimate for c.2.5x the amount that work should actually cost. They will be getting no more of my business. POSTSCRIPT FURTHER TO FIRM'S REPLY BELOW AT c.1430 HOURS ON 28/02 - what irony that the reply should refer to fairness when any reputable firm should treat its customers fairly by providing fair estimates in the first instance. Notwithstanding the price of parts, Nagingtons quoted 2 hours for a job which took 30 minutes. As already stated, this is not the first time Nagington's has provided me with an excessively high estimate particularly in respect of labour. CAVEAT EMPTOR."

"2 rear shocks, springs and suspension top. We all know how cheap MK1 MX5 parts are these days, i paid more than the price you can buy from a specialist. A mx5 specialist quoted £377.00 for the job mine was near £700.00. Should have gone out of town! I was told the N/s/r tyre had a puncture, obviously I've never pumped the tyre up being in storage for 6 months. The front n/s has the puncture still and was nailed for double the price you buy for a budget tyre in town. I've taken the car back twice. Obviously the car now sits 2 inches higher than the normal height it should be and the suspension was falling away and knocking around on the n/s. Still waiting for the correct and safe suspension springs too be fitted. They refused a part refund to keep a customer happy. But no, so therefore its a no go back for work done on my cars. Always get a second price as their pricing is way too much!"
