City Break Apartments - Dublin 168 Granby Place, County Dublin D01 VP96

"We were looking for an apartment for a couple of nights in Dublin center where we could cook, do laundry, and get a good night's sleep. We reserved a Parnell Street apartment from City Break Apartments online and arrived after the check-in time of 3PM to pick up the keys. The check-in process was fine, but it went down-hill from there. The photo of the location showed the apartment above a bike shop, when in fact it was above a casino. The photographs showed a newly remodeled, clean, spacious apartment when in fact it was a total dump, worse than any I had seen back in my college days - ripped couch, chipped tiling, counters, and molding, and dirty, sticky, ripped up flooring throughout. I was in tears the place was so horrible. I went back to the office and explained as best I could the state of the apartment, surprised that they don’t inspect the places they rent out. As much as I would've liked to request a refund for the 267.30 Euros, it was now getting into the evening and finding another place to stay would be challenging. The only other apartment they had was in the same building, one floor up from the "party pad". I reluctantly accepted the new apartment, dubious that it would be any better. Fortunately, the new place was in better shape, and clean-ish, but the hallway and elevator were still disgustingly dirty. And later on, when we were trying to relax over dinner, and then try to sleep, we realized the jacked-up dirt bikes race all night along the tram tracks next to the apartment. Didn't sleep much at all. This is by far the worst place I have stayed in 30 years of my adult life. Avoid it at all costs."

"I could not rave more about the apartment that we stayed in. Location was amazing, so close to the LUAS, also walking to everything. The little touches gave the apartment such a luxurious feel at a fantastic price, from the heated floor in the kitchen, to all the extra essentials and when the staff knew it was a special occasion, they had chocolates and flowers on arrival. I would highly recommend to a friend ...... & I have :)"
