"Roganstown was a great place to stay. We called ahead to ask if we could drop our luggage there early, before our check-in time, and they said it would be no problem. By the time we got there, they had our room ready to check-in, more than 3 hours early! They were very kind and accommodating, they booked a taxi for us to take to the airport, which is very close to this hotel. We ate dinner in the hotel bar, which was very delicious. Our one complaint about the room was that there was no fan/AC unit and we had to keep the window open to cool down."
"Stayed 3 nights whilst visiting my son, didn’t eat at the hotel in the evenings, on arrival check in was quick, staff were friendly, our room was comfortable and very warm, had tea making facilities, we had breakfast one morning but compared to the rest of the hotel the breakfast room was very cold. Grounds were clean and tidy, had a look at the swimming pool which looked very nice, the bar area was comfortable to sit and drink in. Priced reasonable and No expensive than nearby hotels. Would stay here again"
"Stayed here for convenient access to the airport (about 15 minutes away). It was good value for midweek near Dublin with the facilities is has. It’s very traditional in style (some may say outdated but I didn’t mind). The room was clean, smart TV, and mattress was OK - not the best, not the worst I’ve slept on. Bathroom again was clean & the towels were big and fluffy which was a nice touch. Spa was lovely & seemed very new and bright - therapist was friendly and well trained. Leisure facilities- I didn’t use as they were really busy during the times I went to scope them out (about 5pm & 10 am) but looked nice. The breakfast room was noticeably cold when I stayed (this was during some snowy days) and the hotel was very quiet I assume to the golf being shut - maybe heat was off? The breakfast was standard - I wasn’t offered a menu so I don’t know if there was anything else besides the buffet/continental options. Staff was mixed from being friendly/warm to being polite but not overly friendly but fine on the whole. I wouldn’t consider the hotel a luxury stay but I do love the history of the hotel and facilities offered. While I think there certainly updates (even small ones) that could be done to improve the hotel overall (as other reviewers have said). I would absolutely stay again due to the ease of hotel access, value for the stay and facilities provided."
"Have stayed about 5 times in this hotel but this stay was below expectations. The reception staff were lovely but that's about as good as it got. The room we had was beside the leisure centre so we were woken up with the sound of kids swimming lessons at around half 8 sunday morning. The room itself was clean but they need an update, very worn and old fashioned. We were told that the hotel would be busy so best to book the bar, we were one of 3 small groups and that was it. Practically empty for the size of it. Lucky this was the case as the bar/lounge staff did not want to be there. A good few orders were wrong and had to be sent back, another had her head on the bar and ignored us while trying to order drinks. The bar manager was fairly rude, not a pleasant man at all especially at the end of the evening when the bar closed at 12. The breakfast delivered the next morning by a very nice man but the food wasnt great. Really below what I expected. We also didn't receive the complimentary drinks for booking direct with the hotel. Really disappointed as I did like this hotel but just too many issues with it to consider booking again in the future"
"Very enjoyable. The room was very comfortable, had a lovely view of the golf course and had all the facilities to make for an enjoyable stay. We ate in the bar on our first night and the food was lovely. There was a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. It's very peaceful but near to everything. Note, the external lighting could be improved, but when you walk in the doors it's a revelation!"
