"I felt ill and rang around hospitals ER’s after VHI Carrickmines told me they didn’t do abdominal issues and all ER waiting rooms were many hours before seeing a patient. Lastly, Blackrock said they could see me as soon as I got into them. The experience was excellent from front office, Dr’s nurses, cleanliness, bedroom and aftercare while in there three nights. Even the food and room temperature was good. The consultants were direct and business like but what else would one expect… The only major down side was that my VHI only covered a 1/3 of my bill leaving me ‘000’s to pay the balance. I was sick, healed and put on medication. I’m feeling 100% better. Excellent but expensive vs St Vincent’s over crowed on hallway trolley for 24 hours the last time I was sick and it was a horrible experience at the private hospital. But Vhi paid 100% for an inferior experience in St Vincent’s hallway."
"I have developed a rash after receiving a vaccine. I have a few allergies, there are on my file but the Gp told me my rash looked like a bug beds' bite. What a thing to say! I don't know if was judged by my appearance but I live in a very well maintained apartment, clean...I was not offered any solution for my rash. I basically paid €70 to get insulted. I won't be going to that clinic ever again! What a lack of professionalism and compassion!"
"Unhelpful, poor communication skills, lacks compassion. Dr Kearns is slow to respond even when her patient is receiving end of life care . Would not recommend."
"I’ve been to Dr. Barbara Kearns a few times and I was never happy with the consultations, but later I understood that it’s just the Irish way of practicing medicine. You’re a client, not a patient. But the last few times I was very disappointed and I thought it was a bit too much to swallow as it had to do with ethic and respect. She was suppose to send a referral letter to a hospital regarding my illness and after several weeks without hearing anything from the hospital, I gave them a call and they said that the doctor had never sent any letter and they were actually not the hospital that she should send the referral to. I had to go back to her to hear that she was going to send another referral letter to another place. So, she had forgotten to send it! She never apologise and charged me 65 euros for this (silly me that didn’t complain). The next time I saw her, I told her about a pain in my fingers and she diagnosed me just having a quick look in my hands, WITHOUT REFERRING ME TO A SPECIALIST with arthritis! She has no clue how this diagnosis impacted my life as I was already dealing with a healthy issue and I was very vulnerable. 15 minutes of consultation, 65 euros, to leave there worse than you came. Never more!"
"Had very poor overall experience with this place. I had an old football injury in my knee which was assessed but why dealt with and it recurred much worse a year after. Why to see a proper physio who did a correct assessment to get it scanned but sick at the clinic didn't want to do the scan without seeing the injured knee first. Only reason to do this is to get an extra fee for the appointment. Hey disappointed and was happy to move to another clinic. Don't think I saw the receptionist smile once. Just a grin place and would not recommend."
