"Great traditional pub in Burslem."
"Excellent staff .with lovely atmosphere been a number of times made to feel very welcome"
"A really great atmosphere and night, lovely polite door man x"
"This is a pub noted locally as a popular watering hole with Port Vale football supporters, not being a sporting type. I can not comment on the atmosphere on a match day, but I hear it's excellent if busy. On non match days, I have found it to have a friendly bunch of regulars. The decor is basic but very clean and, if not cosy, certainly pleasant. The locals and staff will happily socilise with a stranger so that within a short time, you feel at home. Finally, do try the 'Bear Island' beer. In summary, a local pub that welcomes all just don't mention the football team from nearby Stoke."
