"They don't stock enough fresh products. We were excited for this new Tesco but unfortunately I still have to go to other supermarkets, specially if I go a bit later in the afternoon. You can reduce the rubbish candy and have more healthy stuff available."
"Finally an affordable supermarket in the area :) has medium variety of fruits / veggies and perhaps a rather big sweets section - but come one, still many healthy everyday food options, considering its size."
"I was happy when I discovered a new Tesco was opening here. However I was a little bit disappointed seeing that lots of foods (expecially the Tesco branded ones) that are usually available in other Tesco are not available here. Some items (expecially vegetables and fruits) are often out of stock for days! Also I would like to see more healthy wholefoods like frozen vegetables and frozen fish (not the breaded one) and less sugary and junk foods/beverages that take most of the space. This huge space is not used properly! Much more items could be sold here if they rethink the space utilisation!"
"I share the same disappointment as the other users. Thought I’d be finally free of SPAR but to my total surprise I find way more variety of produce in the SPARs around than in this Tesco “superstore”. Honestly folks, why so much sugary rubbish on the shelves? I was counting the days until this store would open and when they did I actually thought it was some sort of prank when I went through the shelves. We want healthy options, fruit, vegetables (like already sliced pumpkin bags, some Japanese beans etc stuff you don’t find around in SPAR basically)"
"Like many in the community, I was really looking forward to this Tesco store. Indeed when I learned it was soon to open I offered it many of my hopes and dreams in which I no longer had to trek down to Merrion for a decent shop without paying a SPAR tax. Alas, what a disappointment. The store's current use case - imho - struggles to compete with the already existing SPAR stores right beside it and on Barrow Street. TLDR, this is an extremely poorly stocked shop. All three times I've been, I felt only genuine misery navigating the senseless lack of variety and selection across produce, fruits, meats and dairy half-aisles. I was actually hoping someone would come up to me and hint at it being all just an elaborate prank because one can, instead, find rows upon rows of sweets and cereals, biscuits and crackers, other types of wholly unnecessary confectionery and both diet and saccharine sodas (bear in mind this stuff is all of the same ilk, that is, totally rubbish and not advised for consumption even if the desired feast is one of junk food). I've come out of this believing the far too often vilified SPAR deserves a lot more credit - they even have more exciting and delectable ready made meals. I hope something changes here soon. For the community's sake. I've already stopped shopping here and would rather the 12 minute stroll to the Tesco on Baggot Street. While less modern and "slick", it manages in a similar sized environment to offer almost 3x-4x the selection."
