"Very pleasant staff. Normal national trust fare. Pleasant indoor seated area, and lovely outdoor seating, though at -5C not so good today."
"We arrived around lunchtime on a weekday afternoon with 2 adults, one child and a 6 month old baby. The weather was fair so we sat outside. Located on the grounds of an incredible manor house, it's a beautiful cafe. We loved the plants and layout of the seating area, real English country garden vibes. The food smells amazing upon walking into the cafe, despite this draw we didn't order a hot meal but a few desserts. We did however see a few tables being served what looked like really generous portions of food. The desserts were as expected, nothing incredible, just fine. The prices are elevated, without a doubt. We ordered 3 desserts, 1 soft drink and two teas, and had very little change out of £20. I liked it. I'd have a tea again when I next fancy seeing the house, but it'd be a big treat to eat there. Absolutely perfect place to treat your elderly parents to lunch, dream venue for that. Staff were extremely warm, inviting and capable people."
"Lovely little rustic cafe onsite at National Trust. You need to be a member to gain access. It’s a lovely little gem of a cafe with good outdoor seating. Unlike many other NT sites they have a larger selection of hot food. We had jacket potatoes which come with salad and coleslaw - very reasonable at around £4.60. The soup was around £6.50! A bit steep. Always busy between 12 and 2 so if you can go later it makes sense. We love visiting for a quick walk and a cuppa and the staff are always lovely and happy in there - like a little family. 5 gold stars"
"You have to buy a ticket to the National Trust site in order to get to go to the tea room. Waste of a trip for me."
"Great place for coffee, tea or light lunch."
