"Thanks team for a lovely evening and meal at the Lakeside. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks and the service was exceptional. A special shout out to Calum who made us feel very welcome. He served us very promptly, made some great menu recommendations and made sure we had a bowl of custard each for our shared dessert! He even brought over a bowl of water for the dog and gave him a special treat! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality Calum."

"This review is after years of visiting and observation....their food is pretty much spot on, but their service is questionable, especially during Summer months when its the busiest times as it seems that they cannot cope with the high number of customers.......the high number of customers is not the problem, its the lack of staff numbers is the issue and their lack of enthusiasm to help customers! (N.B. When you come during busy times, expect your food to be served to you in 45 mins and it will be COLD! Always grab a server as soon as it comes cold, otherwise they will vanish helping other customers.) However, its a different story when it comes to Winter, their quality of service is really good, which I can assume will be down to the lack of customers visiting the venue during the cold winter months! That being said, my partner and I had breakfast today and it was delicious; I've attached some photos! This pub would have got a higher rating if their service was consistently good throughout the year and that the restaurant plans better with more staff members during the summer months."

"We pre-booked a table for two families for Sunday lunch. Restaurant was really really busy both inside and out. Both the Beef Sunday lunch and Veggie Wellington Sunday lunch had run out! We waited nearly 2 hours between order and food arriving! The drinks we ordered to have with the food were long gone by the time we got our “it’s going to be another 10 minutes” so a second round of drinks were supplied for free with deserts offered free as well. The fixtures and fittings of the place are tired and broken, the place is a bit grubby with toilets out of order. (So much so we saw ladies sneaking in the gents!) When the food finally turned up the kids pizza meal was a 2 minute microwave Chicago Town type pizza, the mash on the Sunday lunch was clearly smash packet mash and the chicken was dry. The Yorkshire pudding was more like a tepid pancake than a Yorkshire? There is no veggie option gravy! It’s all beef!! So watch what you get on your veggie food, we got Beef gravy on a veggie meal??? The servers and front of house staff were really apologetic and polite and professional but the kitchen left a lot to be desired. The bill was heavily discounted but I just don’t think it’s worth coming back until major changes take place."

"The place is beautiful, there is a great view of the lake, but the restaurant does not serve food outside and there is a long wait while they serve. We had to return the order to my child because the meat was too raw."
