"In reality it took 30 days to get a £100 damage deposit refunded, despite being assured it would be 3-5 working days. The room we stayed in bared little resemblance to the pictures we had seen on the Internet. Our room was small with a small bathroom, the furniture was visibly dated with a drawer missing from the chest of drawers. There was no hair dryer in the room, something you find even in budget hotels these days. The view of Swansea we had anticipated was in fact a view of the roof of Swansea indoor Market. Despite reading that the rooms had noise insulation we were aware of constant sound from other rooms and corridors so I am not sure what they used for the insulation? THE REAL ANNOYANCE.. was the fact that we had to pay a £100 damage deposit, this I readily did as I dont generally damage other people's property. It was paid by debit card on the understanding that it would be repaid 3 to 5 working days after our departure. On day 6 I spoke to the Hotel Manager (Craig) who reassured me there was no problem with the refund and if I hadn't received it by the following Monday to call back and they would sort it out. The following Weds I called back as still no refund only to be told by reception that it was the fault of my bank, they gave me a code number to give to my bank to sort things out. My bank says the code is meaningless and I need to speak to the Dolphin Hotel!! Frankly I am to busy to running back and forth over the telephone. I have never been asked to pay a room deposit before and would advise anyone staying in this Hotel to pay by cash and insist on a refund when checking out."
"I travelled to pick up my son from university, the rooms are ok, the service is fine. Location is great as you are in the city centre , so everything is at your fingertips."
"Recently stayed here for a few days while visiting my daughter who is studying abroad. Great location, clean spacious room. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Good value for money!"
"Good location - nice and close to coach and train station and Swansea arena with plenty of eateries nearby. Check in and out is at the front desk, no automated/self check in. We, along with a few other guests, did have to wait a short while for a member of staff to come down to the desk when checking out which seemed a bit of an oversight. But he promptly apologised and all staff were perfectly friendly during our stay. Room was good, though there were no plug sockets by bed, only above desk on opposite side of room and the WiFi wasn't great. The view wasn't good but that's just luck of the draw I reckon. I did like the colour scheme of the room and the dark woods were very pleasant. Generally clean though did find a hair or two on shower wall and the rubber shower mat needs replacing, and perhaps some fresh grout could be appropriate. There was an electric kettle and tea/coffee things provided (though one of the spoons was visibly dirty). There is a cafe/bar downstairs which seemed pleasant and bar is open 24 hours for guests."
