"Had orthodontic treatment with Mary and her team a few years ago. Long after I finished treatment I had a nasty fall in work and nearly knocked my two front teeth out. I rang the office and they fitted me in for an X-ray and continued to monitor my teeth over the weeks to see if they would die. Mary and Paula helped me out so much during what was a such a traumatic time for me and explained to me what was happening in my mouth! They were so helpful and can’t recommend Dunboyne Orthodontics enough, who have gone above and beyond for me over the years."

"Hands down the worst experience and customer service. I brought my two daughters for the first consultation which was excellent, Mary spent time going through the treatment plan but it went downhill rapidly after that. An appointment was made for us to go back a week later for X-rays. When we arrived we were told tbh machine was broken, so they took photos, charged €150 each and told me to come back the following Saturday the machine would be fixed. We returned the following Saturday and were left waiting an hour before the X-ray (these things happen). When the nurse was doing the X-rays, Mary went into the room to do something, interrupted the X-ray, asked my daughter to leave then when she was finished the X-ray could continue. When we went in to see Mary she was giving out saying I hadn’t signed a form. I explained I don’t sign blank forms outlining I’d pay the costs when she hadn’t bothered to fill in the actual costs. I spoke to Mary to explain I really wasn’t happy with the delays and how rude she was giving I was going to commit to pay a significant amount of money. She explained she had told me she was under staffed etc (she was still quite rude as if it was my fault) but I put it down to the fact that she was under pressure as there were several people waiting. Foolishly I decided to proceed with treatment and made appointments for my daughters to have extractions. A week before the appt I had 3 missed calls from the surgery, which I returned and left several messages but nobody got back to me. On the morning of the first appt for extractions I rang to confirm our 1:30 appt only to be told it was at 12. When I explained it couldn’t be and I wouldn’t have taken an appointment for 12 as we have a long-standing commitment on Saturdays I was advised it was a glitch in the system. The nurse then advised she would try to get an appointment for the following Thursday. I explained it must be after school and my children finished school at 2:30. One of the reasons I chose this surgery was the appointments were supposed to be evenings and weekends. Another nurse phoned back to offer an appointment at 2:30 on the Thursday, when I explained this didn’t suit as the children only finished school at that time, she was rude and said I told the other nurse we could come then. I wasn’t splitting hairs on this one but eventually got an appointment for the Thursday at 3pm. The Thursday we arrive at the surgery at 2:50 for the 3pm appt only to find there’s no dentist there to do the extractions - the dentist finished at 2pm that day. At that point enough was enough and I decided to find another orthodontist - nothing from Mary, no phone call to acknowledge or apologise. The only saving grace is treatment hadn’t started because I would have been tearing my hair out if I’d to deal with that for 2-3 years of treatment. In summary I would avoid, Mary the orthodontist is rude cause she doesn’t appear to work well under pressure. We met 6 dental nurses over 4 visits, 3 were lovely and extremely helpful, but appears staff turnover is high, I would imagine because Mary is rude to them and the place is chaos. The is no appointment system, they use a gmail calendar and delete indiscriminately."
