"Katie was amazing. Love her. Service with a smile is always da bestttttt. Only dropped a star as the starters were a little small"
"We received excellent service, especially for a group of 7 with lots of dietary requirements. Thanks to Monika and the other members of staff for being so friendly"
"The first time we were due to visit The Amsterdam we were thwarted by a problem with the electricity in the kitchen so our booking was cancelled. So we thought we would try again. We visited on a Friday night and settled to look at the menu in the restaurant side of the pub. The new décor was really nice but it was a little chilly in there but we hoped things would improve with some food. However our first 3 choices were not available !! No steaks or pies available on a Friday night. We were told they had a steak night during the week when the steaks had been sold. Surely you can buy some more - you have freezers I'm sure to store them in and surely you shouldn't be running out of food on one of your busiest nights of the week ! We made alternative choices and the food was good when it arrived after only a short wait. We moved into the other bar after eating and it was much warmer and cosier in there. Our only other gripe was the price of Peroni - way too expensive for Shoreham at £4.90. Oh and we did get someone else's drink on our bill but we will write that off as a mistake as this was quickly rectified when pointed out."
"Very excited about going to the newly refurbished gastro pub... Great decorations lovely ambience - the food was really disappointing - we all expected more give the pleasant surroundings. Hoping they get a Chef soon"
"As a regular customer, I sometimes receive a good welcome when there’s someone behind the bar. Disappointed though that their best ales always seem to be ‘sorry I’m not quite ready’, including my favourite, Harvey’s. I know you need to clean your pipes, but most pubs can manage this out of hours. We had dinner which was tasty and brilliant value, but the coffee was served like dish water. We ordered decaf and what we got was like a few grains of instant coffee. I mentioned this and was told ‘we know, it’s a pod machine and it’s awful’ No offer to put it right though, so that, unfortunately was our parting impression. Shame, I do like the place."
