"Don’t stay here. Especially if you are in Worthing on a Monday for work the next day. Monday night is kareoke night and it went on until 11.30. I was in the room furthest from the bar and it was still loud (and terrible). There was no hot water, and when I reported it I was told this was a known/ongoing issue. The room also wasn’t that clean- carpet needed a good hoover and there were hairs on the bath and on the bathroom floor. My work requested a refund, which they gave us, but we cancelled our future bookings."
"stoped for 1 night and looks like a true B&B. outside very impressive but unable to park in car park as getting ready for refurbishment. plenty parking nearby though. Worthing train station immediately opposite so easy to get to. Easy to check in and first impressions that looking a bit tired but impressive building. Room served purpose and well equipped although did look a bit dated and refurbishment due. Coffee, TV, shower supplies, towels and Electric fan provided. Was unable to close Window fully but not a problem as warm so nice. Entertainment provided in pub attached although didnt check that out. Beer Garden at back as well. Bit of walk to beach but i need my steps as part of Million step challenge for diabetes so 4000 steps there and back a nice walk. Well worth a stay and will be visiting again"
"I've given this hotel 1 star because it was the lowest option. Our room was on the 1st floor, but we felt as if we were in the bar, listening to the band, kids running up and down the stairs, and drunks singing outside our room until the early hours. There was no headboard, which meant the pillows disappeared between the bed and the wall. We were told that the room would be,(refreshed) each day of our stay, which did not happen. I asked if we could be supplied with a fan in the room as it was nearly 40 degrees and the windows were painted shut, also did not happen. My husband had to ask for one from the bar staff at 10.30 in the evening. To top it all there was no toilet roll. At no point was there a staff member on reception other than when we booked in. Faulty towers springs to mind. We had booked for 3 nights to visit family, but left after 2 as we were disgusted much work needed"
"I was staying for one night on a Monday so I could visit my friend. When I arrived there was nobody at the desk and it was Karaoke night. Someone happened to notice I was standing there and went and got the person who would check me in. apparently there was a sign if nobody was there but I didn’t see that. The man told me that the karaoke would be going on until 11pm. I thought oh well that’s ok then if it finishes at a reasonable time on a Monday night. Then the room I was put in is right above the bar where the music/singing was! The sound was so loud and came right into the room. Why put me in that room?? The room was tidy but not spotless. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt with the noise so I put on the TV to try and drown out the noise and keep in mind that I could sleep once it got to 11pm. However, the karaoke kept on going!! I waited until 11:30 and it was still going on so I then called the hotel to try and speak to someone for help as I couldn’t get any sleep. (I would like to add I was 10 weeks pregnant at the time so I was incredibly tired) But nobody answered the phone! I left it a little bit longer and tried 3 more times but still nobody answered the phone. Then it got to midnight and I couldn’t take it any longer, I called a taxi and left and stayed at a friends who i was lucky could take me in. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had! :("
"Lovely old retro building some great features. Clean, however could do with some ongoing maintenance, it could be stunning. Shower was poor, low pressure, blocked shower head and spray, best to take a bath. Great location, parking, we were able to leave our bags there from early morning so we could enjoy the coast before checking in later that day. Friendly and helpful staff"
