"2023 Been back to this pub and went at an earlier time 5pm . The service was good . The food was great . Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Not to busy this time so gone up to 4 stars ⭐️ 3 ⭐️ in 2022 . review Very busy , food was good , we were going for a pudding and another drink . Waited at least 10 minutes to get served but walked out. Staff couldn’t keep up . Need more staff. The staff were still pleasant It was a Thursday night approximately 6 pm. They have outside areas in wooden booths. Big car park but I would go again but if car park busy I’ll go somewhere else ."
"Service was so slow even though it wasn't that busy. Visited on 14/03/2023 at 7pm. We arrived and were seated at our table, and then shortly after placed an order at the bar for drinks and mains. Mains took 50 minutes to come, we asked about them after 40 minutes and the helpful server went to find out where they had gone. Once the mains did come, they were overall good but the chips on a couple of the plates were cold. We then ordered desserts at the bar again, and we were waiting 30 minutes for desserts. When the desserts did come, we were told the wait for one of them would be 2 minutes longer - it actually took a further 10 minutes. The final dessert was soggy. We will not be returning, very disappointed."
"A friend and i popped in yesterday for a bit to eat. We had monkfish and it was superb. The bearnaise sauce wasn't how I know bearnaise to be and once poured over the potatoes, i had to leave both which was a shame as proper bearnaise is delightful. Pub was busy with great atmosphere and staffed well so we didn't wait long at all. We would be happy to visit again!"
"Not recommended!!! "Ember Inns" standard fare, you would think, but, no!!!! First and last time there, we were visiting Stoke-on-Trent from Liverpool, arrived at 13.00pm Saturday 3rd November, it was not busy, ordered quickly, but, service was terrible, had to ask "twice" where food was, "90 minutes later" it at last arrived, I had ordered "Scampi and Chips" (£9.29), this is what I got, "it was cold"!!! (See pictures)!!! We "complained" and left!!! "NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL"!!! (Monday 5/11/22). In reply to the "Victoria Hotel". Thankyou for your prompt response!! But, "no" thankyou!! We shall not be returning, the two ladies I was with are from "Dublin" and have left with a "very poor" opinion of "Ember Inns" indeed!!! Furthermore, you should also be aware that there were two "families" on tables close to ours, whose children were very well behaved, but, were also waiting for their food and finding it "very hard" to reassure them it would be soon!!! Quite frankly, the "service and the food" was "absolutely awful" and as a business owner myself, the standard of "management" at the "Victoria Hotel", especially, for a "Saturday afternoon" was, to put it simply, "non-existent"!!!! That said, my personal opinion is, as I previously stated, "NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL"!!!"
"Overall the visit was excellent. On arriving we were directed to our table. The evening was very busy. Maybe at the table a brief leaflet as to how and what to do would be a good addition, as this was our first visit and we we not sure if we had to go or where to go to place an order. I asked one of the staff who advised that it was table service. The evening from start to finish went very well , where the waitress was extremely polite and very attentive (not in abtrucive way). The food was piping hot of good quality presented to a high standard. We look forward to visiting again."
