"I wasn’t going to leave this review but it’s been months now and I’m still struggling with the damage to my hair since visiting this salon. I had a balayage here in September. It was my second lot of highlights - the first time I went to a well known Swansea salon, who did a fab job and who told me I’d only need one other balayage session before I’d get to the colour I wanted. This was because my hair was virgin hair originally. I decided to go for Jamie Hill as I had been years before then and the reviews were so good. Visiting this salon was genuinely one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. They left the foils on for 2.5 hours and still the colour didn’t take. I was starting to get worried about the time they left it and kept asking but the staff were rude and told me it was fine. When they took it out and put a toner on, I was in shock - it was absolutely horrendous. The girl who did my hair (who had been with the salon a week but apparently had 20 years experience) put two separate unequal foils in my moneypiece which meant the blonde started further up on one side than the other. The ‘senior stylist’ (who is 21?!) had to come and put another toner on. When I left the salon around 5 hours later, I scratched my head and had dye on my fingers. My sister then looked at my head and found dye was still left in numerous parts of my scalp. She had to wash my now very brittle hair and carefully dry it again. My hair was so broken, she had to cut 4 inches off and it was still an absolute mess. I had bleeds all over my head where the foils had slipped and the colour was literally orange. I contacted the salon and went back in where I had a consultation with the manager and senior stylist. They told me their policy is ‘go low and slow’ and they realise they went too low so it didn’t take. I fully believe the damage was due to the amount of time they left it on. They both said there wasn’t much they could do as it was now so damaged and basically they wanted to dye it a dark blonde, wait a few months and then try bleaching it again. I was too scared to let them touch my hair again as truly none of them seemed to have any idea what they were doing. I requested a refund and left. I had to go to a family friend who is a d hairdresser and she dyed it back dark. My hair was so damaged, it was porus and didn’t take so she had to do it again. I paid £166 at Jamie him to damage my hair beyond recognition and then go back to my original colour straight after. My hairdresser has been so brilliant but today (4 months later) she said I needed to have my hair cut to shoulder length due to how bad the condition is. I walked into Jamie hill with my hair in really lovely condition. FYI, Jamie Hill has nothing to do with this salon anymore. The staff told me he stole money and disappeared. Honestly, they are all a bunch of rookies charging double what they should be for their skill set. I wish I’d read a review like this before choosing this salon."
"Lovely staff and very unique salon, which I love! Always so welcoming and very helpful when asking how to maintain my hair style would certainly recommend to family and friends!!"
"I finally got paid after months of waiting and I knew that my hair was in dire need of being cut. I have long brown curly hair and it was getting hard to brush! When I went to the salon I had told Rosie that I would like my hair to feel as healthy as possible le. Rosie had told me it was best to keep my curly hair longer to pull down the frizz and have longer layers so it looked nicer. She also told me to change my shampoo (which I did). She put lots ofproducts in my hair that made the hair feel healthy but I kotived not a lot of hair was cut off (especially as my hair is thick and curly, normally quite a bit needs a chop) however Rosie said that being a skilled stylist with curly hair, you know what to chop and how much to cut of. I was extremely disappointed a few days later when I tried to brush my hair and I couldn't even get a comb through it. I had messaged the salon privately and told them I was unhappy (which I never do), just because it was not a cheap hair cut at all and I really felt as if they just put nice products in my hair rather than giving it a good cut. They then said they would have me in to have it cut again, however I got ghosted when I said my availability. I recently had my haircut at Boosh and it was a really good cut, it feels healthy and amazing. Love your curly girls! Short or long:)"
"Attended for a cut and blow dry with Emma. Treated really well and was extremely happy with the help and advice given. Very knowledgeable and came out feeling glamorous. Thank you, lovely laid back place, will definitely be back x"
"Had an appointment with Tim who took the time to discuss with me what we should do with my hair as I never really know whats best and what I actually want. He set out a plan and made sure I was happy before we went ahead. My new hair is great and really suites my low maintenance needs but also looks fantastic! All the staff there were very welcoming, nothing seemed rushed for them or too much of a bother. Offering teas and coffees etc and every stylist took the time out of their day to say hello to me. I don't usually like the culture of hair salons but this one is a different vibe completely! Highly recommend the salon and Tim!"
