"400 euro spent in Tresspass Nutgrove (Dublin) store to buy camping gear and treated as a scammer. I bought a ton of gear and new boots. I tried the boots for 30 min and realised they were too big and wanted a smaller size. When I came back the next day, the seller (who refused to even say his name?!) said the boots cannot be sold again, therefore he can't issue me a refund. I asked why - he said it's being worn (really Sherlock? How would I try it if I didn't wear them?). Then the seller started to use Spanish words with me (did he think I'm Spanish? Was he being xenophobic? Why was he doing that?) - This is really upsetting and I wish I could just return it all, get my money back and never had to deal with Tresspass again. Possibly my worst experience shopping in Ireland in the last 14 years I've been here. Oh, the worn boots? here are the pictures taken as soon as I got home, after being denied the return."
"The notice at the door advises about the necessity to wear a face mask but on the one occasion I was there, the assistant wore no face mask and only put one on when asked to do so. He removed it before we got to pay! Each time in the following 2 wks I passed by, he was there without a mask. I emailed the headquarters of Trespass and got platitudinous reply..... not going in there again until they step up their game."
"Excellent value for money merchandise. Far cheaper than most outdoor shops in Dublin city centre, and may that continue and long last!!! I have been a regular customer over the past 10 years and anything I bought 10 years ago (fleeces, backpacks, jackets) is still usable and in good condition. Yes, some of their stuff is sold at cost prices because they are of lower spec than the top of the range competitors, but most of the time that's all a hiking affitionado needs! And if top of the range stuff is what you need they can also accomodate you! Now that prices seem to be sky rocketing high everywhere again after the recession, I am grateful for Trespass. Please keep it real and don't ever change."
