"This is for AD Williams, Brighton. Terrible quality repair backed up by even worse customer service. Had one of our vans in for repair to side door and rear wheel arch. Arrived back 4 days later than promised. Paint not the same colour, runs in paintwork, they’d even managed to spray over existing vinyl from the sign writing, slide door didn’t fit correctly, vehicle in dreadful state with masking tape still applied to some areas, dirty handprints on the inside and they even added a scratch on the drivers door which wasn’t there when they collected. Centre manager Steve was simply not interested in my complaint and even argued that they didn’t remove door and they ‘couldn’t’ have sprayed over the old vinyl; he was looking at a photo and I was looking at the actual vehicle so I was correct. They came to pick it up to rectify their poor workmanship. In the meantime my company had a booking come in which we couldn’t turn down so it cost me £700 to hire a replacement van. I asked Steve (manager) for a small consideration due to the inconvenience by repairing 2 small areas unrelated to the original incident. Steve point blankly refused and wouldn’t even entertain the idea and to top it all, the vehicle was returned and now the side door has to be slammed really hard to close it so even their rectification needs rectifying..!! Steve thought 20 quids worth of fuel was compensation enough because they had to drive it down to Brighton again; let’s not worry about the extra miles and wear and tear eh Steve. I sent an e mail of complaint to AD Williams head office expecting someone in authority to reply…. Instead I got the same old unhelpful Steve replying instead so obviously even their senior managers/directors don’t care about customer satisfaction either. I don’t want the van to go back for a further rectification to sort the door out because I don’t believe they have the skills to do it properly. Conclusion…. Avoid at all cost"
"I found communication to be excellent . I was kept informed of where my car repairs were at, when my car would be delivered etc The guys who delivered my car Mark and another I didn’t catch the name of we’re polite, respectful, courteous and kept in touch about when they would arrive."
"Avoid at all costs! We have a mark 1 golf clipper which was sent to them to repair when someone went into the back of us. The car has a manual choke which they pushed so hard into the dash it ripped the dashboard. They did not accept any fault event though it happened while in their care and did not offer us any help. Would not use again."
"My insurers used AD William's when somebody crashed into my car, I was told I wouldn't have to pay anything as it wasnt my fault. Everything went really well until it came to them dropping off my car. First they went to the incorrect address (I had notified them multiple times) and tried to leave the car there. Then when they did arrive the guy demanded I pay him 10 pound in petrol for the 'delivery '. That was not part of the deal!!!"
"My experience of AD Williams was not great. Annoyingly my insurers insisted I use them, rather than take the car to Land Rover or a repairer of my choice. The positive reviews gave me some cause for optimism, however this was misplaced. The Brighton branch had the car for several months after some damage to the windscreen, wing mirror and bonnet of the car (from a pallet jettisoned from a speeding truck). In fairness, the delay might have been Land Rover parts availability, but their communication was terrible, they were impossible to contact by phone and when the car was returned they’d done a shabby job. The re-sprayed bodywork was dimpled, some damaged trim and bodywork hadn’t been repaired or replaced and the replacement wing mirror had been re sprayed completely the wrong colour. So, back it went. A few weeks later I got the car back again. The paint wasn’t perfect, but I couldn’t face sending it back a third time. Within weeks of driving the car the replacement windscreen trim started coming loose and internal rattles from around the windscreen were intolerable. I took the car to Land Rover to repair the problems and they confirmed various clips were missing and that the repair had been done shoddily. Very disappointing, despite assurances of perfect craftsmanship and lifetime guarantees on the work."
