"One of my favourite restaurants. Have not been since covid but well worth the wait. Food is better than ever, as is the service. Always a joy to visit, fine dining food in a relaxed and friendly setting. Lots of surprise courses served from the minute you sit down."
"Wonderful staff and wonderful food. Dishes arriving often and all amazing. The Kitchen has a Zen feeling and it shows in the atmosphere created throughout the restaurant."
"When it comes to combining flavors in a way that creates a complex harmony I think John Wyer has no equal. Don't come if you need bold punchy flavors all so intense that they could be the star of their own dish. No, the dishes here show that the coach has spent time on building a cohesive team unit in every dish where each individual gives 100% for their team mates. The result is that every dish is a winner... and some offer such harmony that they are a whole new eating experience."
"Absolutely adored dining here, can’t wait until I’ve got an excuse to go back there. Compared to other bib gourmands and one star Michelins with similar concepts in Dublin Forest Avenue is playing in a different league. Professional and approachable staff; the head chef/owner came out and chatted with us several times about the food and our waiter realized our wine interest and really tried to accommodate any and every need we had. The food is beyond incredible. It’s one explosion of flavor after the other - they really find a beautiful balance between challenging the palette and giving pure flavor pleasure! They don’t have any wine pairing thought out with the dishes, we would’ve loved that - trying to choose wines for dishes we didn’t know before they arrived on the table was no easy feat. We got a 10 course surprise tasting menu, and the tempo was very high in between plates - too high sometimes, as a warm plate was served during the time I was in the restroom, which is not acceptable. Towards the end there was some miscommunication where they indicated we only had 30 minutes left of our booking but they had yet to serve the last two dishes (they were discouraging ordering any dessert wine or coffee), which was really frustrating as it was clearly a timing issue on their part. It all worked out in the end and they were kind about it! The only other minor thing was inconsistency in serving/presentation. One dish would always have different proportions of ingredients on the plate compared to the other. All in all, this was an incredible experience. I’d go for a bottle of wine rather than trying to pair wines, as the price of wines got disproportionately expensive compared to the tasting menu. We also got a little goodie bag when we left, which is was a super nice surprise. Love this restaurant!"
"This was some of the best food I have ever had. I did not even know a simple tomato could be the most tasty and flavor full meal I could ask for. We went and there was secret tasting menu, ten courses, for about 120 euro a person. Which in my opinion was completely and otherly worth it! This is a must do if you are in Dublin!!!"
