"From the start of the order process the experience wasn’t a positive one. Being a type 1 diabetic it’s useful when the establishments have their nutritional information online. Upon looking online, not only is there no direct link on the website but when you search Google, which then takes you to a page on the website. It will only show information from 2020 with missing menu items from the current menu. But that wasn’t the main reason for this review. I ordered a burger which contained steak which was asked to be cooked at medium. But when receiving it it was well done and very very chewy. My brother also ordered his chicken burger without any sauce on it, but it arrived with sauce on. This took around 10 minutes to correct. We used to have a good experience here but things have gone downhill quickly, so I’m afraid we won’t be returning."
"We haven't visited this venue in over 2 years so we decided to pre-book for Christmas day. Three of us arrived for our 13:30 allocated time. The car park was almost full and there was already a queue back to the door. We eventually got seated at a table, after a short delay because they lost our booking. The table had a different family Christmas card on the table and so they swapped us to another table. A couple of small minor mishaps to start with. I decided to order drinks from the bar because the waitress staff looked really busy. Our starters arrived after about 20 minutes and were all as pre-ordered. There was about 15 minutes queue for the carvery but it was worth the wait. All the food was fresh, hot and plentiful. We all agreed it was one of the best, if not the best carvery we have ever had. Waiting for desserts was the main problem. I think all the tables finished their mains at a similar time. So many people were chasing their desserts, some 4 and 5 times. We chased ours 3 times. After about 40 minutes they eventually arrived. However, the Christmas puddings were luke warm and the cheese with the biscuits was dry and not that fresh. The self service coffee and mince pies had run out. I asked for them to be refreshed and after 20 minutes of waiting I gave up. I cannot fault the staff. They worked tirelessly to please everyone. After all it was Christmas day. If it wasn't for the few problems it would have been a 5 star review."
"A great selection to choose from on the menu, in particular I recommend the luxury macaroni cheese which while quite spicy is very tasty. Their portion sizes for their desserts are incredible. Well worth the money. In the end I had to take mine home and it lasted me two more days! My son loved the little indoor play area too which is a nice feature that you don't find at many restaurants."
"Visited with my wife and daughter for lunch and found the place to be spacious, clean and tidy. Service was prompt and very professional. Food was really good for the money. Only downside, a very large slice of cake was way too much for a serving and the sponge was rather heavy - would have been better as a much smaller serving. Overall, we will be back again."
"Amazing place!! May be the new local for my friend, so first impressions were crucial! all staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient. The food itself was lovely, we had lots of picky bits but honestly everything looked really tasty. Better standard than normal pub grub, very tasty we will definitely be back! Also they have giant cakes here (I have a sweet tooth) gutted they had run out of the cheesecake but I got the chocolate one. :0)"
