"Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who took us to our table, the pub is decorated lovely and has a nice atmosphere. We then ordered our food and drinks.both menus have enough choice to keep everyone happy. Donna ordered her favourite G & T Brockmans and I had a brew dog zero Punk AF, now onto the food and we were spoiled for choice. We ended up sharing the starters and both of them were superb. ( Panko Fried Tunworth & Mackerel Pate ) and for main I went for the Venison Burger and Donna had the Gin & Tonic Battered Fish & Chips again both looked and tasted wonderful, The chips are outstanding. We then had another round of drinks before having our chosen dessert again these looked and tasted amazing, Donna had the Chocolate Decadence and I had the Cheese Board again both were lovely. I take my hat off to the team at the Red Lion for having the courage to open up a new business at this time, I hope it all works out for them. To finish get yourself over to this lovely pub and enjoy an excellent meal with them."
"First time visiting and went as a group of 10 people. Service was excellent and the staff were really friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. The food was very good! Chicken wings as a starter are a top recommendation as they tasted amazing and the portion size was generous. I had the 8oz Ribeye steak with Cowboy fries. The cowboy fries were also very delicious and although the steak tasted good, there were a few let downs (Which is why im giving 4 stars and not 5). The steak was rather small for an 8oz at £19. Especially as other people 8oz steaks looked much bigger. It was also overcooked when ordered medium rare (not much of a pink middle). Two other steaks (Rumps) were also cook different to how they were ordered. Anyway, the quality of the server and taste of the food made up for this and I will certainly be going back again."
"A quaint little pub at the entrance to Yardley Hastings High Street. Typical thatched roof, low ceilings friendly staff and atmosphere with very good food. I went with some family from abroad who loved the pub and the food, especially the cheesecake."
