"Served me and my daughter raw chicken. Then after showing it to a member of staff, they replied “well it can’t be, it’s cooked on a timer” But it was definitely raw chicken, another customer had the same. I was then offered more chicken…. Which I obviously declined. I wouldn’t recommend this place to eat."
"What a shame really Been a customer at chopstix for about 7 years so when I heard there was one in Newcastle I thought that’d be great. This is only my second visit to this branch. The first time was the food and service I expected. But today? Ordered the salt and pepper potatoes as a snack, and they gave me, all of about 8 pieces. They were small and shrivelled. The taste was the same as ever. I order the salt and pepper potatoes every time I go to any chopstix around the country. When I asked the young server why the portion was so small, as I’d ordered it in my first visit and had it in the paper (bigger) box. (Which is what I’d also received at other branches in the past) And why this time it’s in the small plastic one, and why the portion was so small. He replied “don’t ask me I’ve only worked here for 2 weeks”, then he looks over at the female server and she shrugs her shoulders at me and gives me this face like well it is what it is, I’m not doing anything about it. I was appalled, I really should’ve asked to talk to the manager or even boss about the size of the portion, but I was in a rush and walked away. Dont know if the portion was extra small because it was also at 5pm when it dies down. But really unacceptable, I won’t be ordering those potatoes from them again and to be honest am now reluctant to go back for any other orders when I can go elsewhere. The 2 stars they get for the taste, and the taste only considering I’ve been a fan of chopstix for a long time. Poor service. Avoid this branch"
"Food tasted nice but for a £17 order I barley got noodles and I was missing some spring onions, for the price I paid it literally took me 5 minutes to fully eat my meal.. safe to say I wasn’t fully after. Personally wouldn’t order again"
"Don't know what all the bad reviews are going on about, unless I caught them on a good day... Staff were friendly from the minute I walked in and the food was delicious. Tasted genuinely authentic and a lot better than some Chinese takeaways I've tried. Smelt delicious as it was being cooked, too. The only thing I'd say is it's slightly overpriced but the taste made up for it. Will definitely be going back!"
"Distinctly edible. Not used Chopstix before, so maybe it's me, but the food is a million miles from what you'd get from even the most disappointing Chinese takeaway. I ate it, generally nothing wrong with it, but it tastes like supermarket microwaveable ready meals, which are much cheaper. The rice and noodles are weird, the toppings excessively salty, and the text on the packaging suggesting it's in any way fresh is laughable. Delivery was fast and friendly, and I have to state there was nothing wrong with the food, but I could have walked to a supermarket and got the same for a lower price and heated it up myself. P.S. just remembered the katsu chicken was at least 50% peas. I like peas, but not that many. Chuck in some carrot, more onion, mushroom, or practically anything else. Peas out."
