"Sooo I’ve eaten a lot of sushi in my day.. like an insane amount of sushi at hundreds of the “best” sushi places in the US, England, and Ireland. Tried Daruma today and it is immediately and unquestionably #1 on my list of best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to. The nigiri was all extremely fresh with excellent flavor and presentation. Staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to recommendations and explanations. I love the “specials” menu as well as the sake options (try the sake tasting special). If you don’t like the raw stuff they also have plenty of house dishes and a variety of delicious charcoal grilled skewers. Whether you like sushi or not, Daruma is absolutely worth a visit. I will be back as often as possible, it’s an incredibly delicious experience!"

"Absolutely fantastic dining experience, delicious food, easily the best Japanese I’ve had in Dublin. The staff are genuine and knowledgeable, I had a wonderful time tasting all the different bottles of sake and hearing all about them. Can’t wait to go back as we had a hard time choosing from the menu but the charcoal yakitori chicken hearts, house rice and the seared salmon nigiri were off the charts. And the oysters, with sake poured into the shell in front of us, were unforgettable."

"For lunch, we ordered the chicken karaage, chicken katsu curry, ox tongue salad, beef ribs, prawn tempura and a side of fried rice. In addition to the lovely atmosphere and Japanese décor inside, we also enjoyed the efficient, attentive service. For sure, the tasty food was the highlight of our lunch. A recurring theme was how consistently delicious and umami-rich everything was, from the miso soup to the karaage. They nailed the textures too, from the silky curry sauce to the crispy batter of the prawn batter. Everything was served to us in a timely fashion and everything that we were served was outstanding in terms of both presentation and quality. Daruma in central Dublin exceeded expectations and have cemented themselves as one of our new, favourite spots for Japanese food in Dublin!"

"Lovely place that serve authentic Japanese food! The good quality makes the pricing worthwhile. A suggestion to management: please move the customers to a bigger table when the waiting staff realized that the amount of food ordered can't possibly fit the small table for two. We had to rush through our food to make space on the table. We had a great night, thanks to Hong and the team."
