"Bought a beautiful diamond ring, service was great assistant was helpful and patient while I chose from quite a few they had for sale as they have a nice selection of unusual designs making you purchase a unique item , unfortunately I had to take it back as a diamond fell out, they sent it away for repair 3 months later the diamond fell out again now they want £250 to repair a ring that has broken twice the ring is not fit for purpose and will not be buying again from this store i now have a £800 ring I cannot wear I am disappointed with the service it’s a shame because when you get bad service the news travels further than good service. I do not recommend purchasing from the store."
"Visited on 1st May to have a watch battery fitted, after waiting outside for 10 minutes due to one customer only policy due to the pandemic, I was advised that they accept cash only on transactions under the value of £10. When I challenged this, the man in the shop quoted what he said was a law which stated anyone not carrying cash was classed as a vagrant and was very rude. On leaving the shop the woman made a comment behind my back, which I overheard. On hearing this I returned to the shop and advised them that having lived in Looe for over 30 years, myself or my family would never step foot in that shop again and that I would tell as many people as possible the same thing. Keep away, their attitude seems to be that they are doing you a favour, complete lack of customer care and service."
"Took a reasonably expensive watch in for a new battery on 2nd July 2017. . Had to be sent away for fitment as they couldn't remove the back for an in house battery replacement. I paid more for the service. We were told that the watch would be due back on the 22nd July. Visited the shop the following week - 29th July. Initially was advised the watch wasn't back as they searched through some boxes from the safe and couldn't find it. I advised that it had been a month and i felt it was poor service for which the owner was absolutely in denial about and responded by stating "you shouldn't be telling me how to run my business". Other clients were in the shop so I left to avoid an argument in front of the owners customers (although that didn't appear to worry or bother the owner). I was gobsmacked at this complete lack of customer service let alone any sort of apology. I bit later on the day my partner (who originally dropped the watch in) went back in to try and sort it out. This time it had been found. Great we thought so we were reunited with the watch and new battery. HOWEVER - The back casing is very badly scratched and it looks as though the back has been removed for the battery replacement with improper tools. I was going to take it back but given my previous experience I'm just going to live with it and put it down to a very bad experience. However I will never use this establishment again. Very rude, lacks customer service of any kind and quite frankly the quality of the work would have been better from a market stall. Others please beware. I've posted pictures of my scratched watch to the google maps page."
"Not to be trusted. Bought a new watch from them for £120, which went wrong within a couple of weeks. took the watch back on a Saturday, when they are normally open and they were closed with no sign stating why. When eventually I caught them open, they changed the battery which made no difference. They then offered to change the movement or for ME to send it back to the manufacturer. I took the replacement movement option and returned again the following day to collect. watch lasted another couple of days and stopped again. Returned the watch again and asked for a refund, and was refused. Store have no interest in complying with the consumer rights laws. I have passed this on to trading standards who are now investigating."
"Owner was rude and unhelpful and I feel tried to (and partially succeeded) to rip us off. I replaced my wife's watch battery but struggled to refit the back cover. When she went in they charged her the full price of fitting a new battery (fair enough perhaps). But I said she should at least ask for the new battery as a spare as the price was the same. When she did, he said he didn't know what type it was and would have to charge her the full price again to take the back off and check. She declined, paid the full replacement price and at that point the bloke tried to hold on to her watch! She had to firmly ask for it back. He was then rude telling her she had no right to buy batteries off the internet and should support local business. If I'd been there I'd have told him to join the 21st century. My elderly mother also had a bad experience several months before where the same guy was less than helpful when she asked for help to find a replacement necklace chain. He merely pointed and said rudely: "they're over there". My advice - go anywhere else but here."
