"Beautiful park, featuring fields, woods and lakes. We just love the beautiful water tower I've included a photo of. We really enjoy taking our dog here, though always find that other people allow their dogs off their leads and approach us. Our dog had a difficult upbringing and this causes her a lot of distress, to the point she needs to be picked up until others leash their own pets. Please, if you have a dog, keep it on a lead when you see other people walking their dogs on leads. We love stopping off at the Derby Lodge Cafe for refreshments mid walk, as it's usually slightly quieter than Shipley Park Visitor Centre Cafe. Very dog friendly, and they do lovely food! Most major paths and tracks are paved, which is great for people with mobility issues."
"Beautiful place to walk and sketch or paint the scene! With the Vsitors cafe and Derby cafe for refreshments. Lakes, woods, open areas and amazing views. We'll worth the walking visit all year round to see the snowdrops, Bluebells, winter skeleton trees, autumn clolurs, birds on iced lakes, people picnicking and sunsets just stunning. Even has the young people's forest with is refreshing to visit in the knowledge that the youth are respecting the earth. Trying to make a difference."
"Beautiful far ranging parkland open all year round. Great visitor centre shop. Various places to get refreshments. Toilets. Stunning woodland with ancient trees, lakes, picnic & sports play areas. Very dog friendly. Wheel chair access in certain areas. Long and short walking distances. Great for all the family. Look put for events. Reasonably priced car parking in spacious car parks."
