"Having just had my first therapy session at 9:30 on Wednesday 19th February 2020, I can say that although I can see how this can be good for people, it can also majorly anger people like myself. I walked into the office just after 9:30 after grossly I misjudged time. The lady at the desk was helpful and asked me to fill out a form which involved asking how I would react from certain situations, I finished this in around 3 minutes I'd say, after this, I was taken into a room with 2 chairs and another lady (Emma) she went through what triggered my anxiety, however, I have to say she seemed the least bit interested and almost seemed to push me for an answer when, there was no answer to give other than my explanation, this made me incredibly uncomfortable and made me want to refuse to answer, after a few back and forths between triggers and my general mental health, she went on to ask if I had taken illegal substances, if I'm an avid alcohol drinker or if I ingest nicoteen. All of those I answered no too, she then asked if I drink caffeinated drinks, to which I do, I drink on average between 500mL to 1.5L of Coca-Cola everyday. (You're probably wondering how I'm not dead yet), she then proceeded to change into a very nasty and mean tone and sternly told me (almost shouting)that caffeine causes anxiety, first of all caffeine doesn't cause anxiety, it makes the symptoms of anxiety worse, this isn't the case with me, a few years ago I tried a month without drinking Coca-Cola at all and I noticed absolutely zero change in my anxiety, caffeine keeps me awake and alert and on 6 hours of the sleep, the only thing giving me more anxiety is over-zealous therapists, that shout at their patients knowing full well that they suffer from anxiety. I told the lady that I would reduce my caffeine intake gradually, she then went and printed some more items off and then I was released. I can say that although therapy helps, what doesn't help is being yelled at by someone I've just met, so maybe when you're evaluating what to change about your practice, you can tell your therapists not to push patients and yell at them when they're obviously uncomfortable. I'm sure you'll be able to pass on my strongly worded review to Emma directly. You can also tell her that I will not be returning on the 28th of February (next Friday) due to her actions and seemingly unprofessional behaviour. Thank-you Taylor Roberts"
"I can honestly say that my counselling sessions at Trent PTS have drastically improved not only my quality of life but also my families. Tarn helped find the deep rooted reasons for my depression/anxiety and negative thinking. She helped me develop strategies and coping mechanisms to deal with my specific issues. Tarn was compassionate, very understanding and above all made me feel safe. The process has made me feel so much better about myself and ready to face the world with renewed confidence and hope. I cannot fault the service of Trent PTS from self referral to my final appointment , they were professional, welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend them. :-)"
