"My 15 month old started here a little over a month ago, attending one day per week. On the days of attendance my daughter became ill with tummy bugs or cold like symptoms, I understand this is common when children start nursery. So this ment my daughter could not attend the following weeks due to illness. I telephoned yesterday to inform them she would not be in attendance due to a lingering cold.I spoke with the deputy manager, during the call she informed me that the finance guys were trying to contact me concerning an outstanding payment of £50, I stated I was not aware of this at all and had no missed calls or voicemails to back this. However I would have no issue at all paying anything I owed. She informed me she would look into and get back to me. She did not. That evening it entered my head it could have been via email so I looked at my emails and received one from rascal stating my child’s place there had been terminated with immediate effect! Going on to say I denied that the finance guys had tried to contact me! I never read my emails and hadn’t done in weeks! However they had emailed several times! However if this was so serious, why would they not telephone or inform me in person that this was owed! I telephoned this morning to seek an explanation from the deputy manager, she stated it was taken out of her hands and the decision was made by the financial director to terminate my child’s place, even though I had paid the month of mays bill! I am utterly disgusted by this! My child went through hell with separation anxiety starting nursery and now she has to go to another place to start all over again! I don’t believe for a second that this place is all about care and compassion, to do this due to a genuine missed mistake. Even though I said I’d have no issue paying this if I owed it! It makes no sense at all. As far as the experience I had of my daughter attending here, I really don’t know, the staff were all friendly. However on the last day she was there, I picked her up, she was outside in the rain with a staff member, with no coat on, her clothes were damp, bearing in mind she was still getting over a cold. I really couldn’t gauge a felling for this place one way or the other, however to terminate a child’s place over £50 that had only been sent via email, is an absolute disgrace and I would never consider sending my child back there!! To the financial director of rascals, you are a disgrace to your profession and it’s clearly all about the money!!"
