"Good location, friendly staff and great food, what's not to like?! The rooms were very nice (we stayed in room 3) the landlord and bar staff were very welcoming and a mine of information. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again."
"Not the best experience! Booked a table for 2 for 1:30 on a Sunday for a roast. On arrival we were told there was no roast beef or vegetarian left. Seemed a bit strange seeing as we had booked and the pub had only been open an hour and a half. Accepted that things happen and decided to have pork (although beef was preference) once the meal came out, they then apologised again and said there was no cauliflower cheese! They did kindly offer a free Yorkshire pud in replacement of the cauliflower cheese. The plate consisted of 3 small pieces of meat, 3 potatoes and enough veg to feed a toddler. Given the price of the food, the service and food was despicable. Then, when we went to pay the bill, they even tried to charge us an extra £1 each for the Yorkshire puddings! Although the food was nice and of good quality and the staff were polite but based on this experience I wouldn’t waste my time again"
"We had a lovely meal here, nice menu with gluten free and vegetarian available. Very dog friendly and loved that you could book which are to sit in, we were in the Snug, but there are also cute beach huts outside! Much bigger than it looks from the outside at the front, good car parking round the back. Food was great and the service was lovely and friendly with biscuits for the dogs too! Definitely worth a visit here!"
"Absolutely lovely place to stay. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. One lovely lady even offered to cook us some food after the kitchen had closed. Surroundings are steeped in history and fascinating. Would thoroughly recommend."
