"Great value. Nice and clean rooms, but it has all the essentials which important. However, my room only had one plug. I don't know if this is common with all rooms but it was a bit of an inconvenience. Great food options. Pints are a bit on the pricey side. Nice choice of beers on tap and the pub is dog friendly!"
"After our experience today, we will not be returning. It is a rare event that we can get out together as a couple. As it was a beautiful day we thought we would take a trip out for some fresh air and a lovely lunch. There was only room in the bar area, which wasn’t a problem. We ordered drinks and food at the bar and told there would be a 45 minute wait. The food arrived missing items that were on the Sunday lunch menu and it was cold. My partners arrived at the same time, and he proceeded to eat his. I sent mine back and was asked if I wanted it replacing or not. Yes I did. 25 minutes later mine came back still with items missing, just one piece of turkey, although it didn’t look like turkey and covered in gravy, which on my order I specifically asked for none. We asked to see the manager. Someone came across, not sure it was a manager and just said sorry. After we asked for a refund, he then made a mistake with the card machine. This was not the enjoyable experience we had hoped for and one went home hungry. I can’t imagine that at a chain like this you should receive such poor service. They had also run out of pumped mixers. There were no steaks of any sort available which was my partners first choice. Overall a diabolical experience."
"Warm welcome by the man with a cast on his foot. Lovely bar area. Restaurant tired. Rooms serviceable. But the whole place needs a total refurbishment. Signs of mold and crumbling walls in rooms and restaurant. Not enough staff either in the evening or at breakfast. Lack of staff causes chaos and delays being served. Saturday night, no beef products at all. No eggs. Very very limited menu. Breakfast table constantly empty of staples. Tea, butter, bread etc. Cooked breakfast was dry and overcooked. No hot plates to cook omelette, really!. The staff were all trying to do their very best and we felt sorry for them having to face very unhappy guests. This whole state of affairs is shocking for a group the size of Marston's. Shame on you."
"Nice large comfy room. Stars taken off as one member of staff repeatedly had bad attitude, was told child could not stay even though booked a family room for 3. Cooked Breakfast not available so ordered the continental, but half of it was missing. Lovely siting off the hotel though, very picturesque and car parking back and front"
"Had a really lovely evening tonight at the unicorns hotel. My partner and I had the cheese, leak and potato pie, which was delightful. Will definitely be going back to try out the kebabs. We also received a fabulous service from Elisha, which really looked after us, answered all our questions and made us feel happy and comfortable during our meal. Thanks a lot Matt & Jess x x"
