"READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT FULLY BEFORE SIGNING ON!!! I have taken part in multiple 5/6 aside leagues in the past, and from personal experience this is by far the worst league I have ever been in. £38 match fee is already deer as it is but not the end of the world, but the problems start occurring when unable to attend fixtures. I provided my league handler (Oli, Nottingham) 1 month prior notice that my team wouldn’t be available for two consecutive fixtures due to us being students going home for two weeks during the holidays. I was assured that would be enough time for the league to either move around the fixtures and reorganise them or replace my team with another in the league. However, this was a flat out lie. When the fixture approached, I was told I wasn’t assured anything and the league wasn’t able to do anything about it. They then told me that the contract signs every team up to a fixed contract of the entire season and any fixture unable to play would result in the £38 match fee along with an additional £38 cancelation fee. They have tried to tell me that my team owe 2 £76 payments for the two fixtures we weren’t able to attend even though I gave over a month prior notice! Furthermore, on one of the early fixtures this season, one of my players,18 years old, was assaulted by a 40+ year old man on an opposing team. The league was notified immediately of this incident and I also reported it to the wider company using their report system and email on their website. I was assured they had a zero tolerance policy for any violence and specifically a serious assault on their premises, and that they would deal with the perpetrator immediately. The following week, when we arrived to play our next game the perpetrator was back playing his next game for his team, clearly showing the league did absolutely nothing in regard to dealing with this serious assault. The gross incompetence from the league has contributed to the member of my team that was victim of this assault no longer feeling comfortable playing for the team and two of my players have dropped out as they no longer feel comfortable and safe playing in this league. I implore you to ensure you read every single aspect of the contract before you sign because once you do, you’re locked in for the full 14 games regardless of if you can’t play one or two weeks, you will be charged extra for being unable to play!"
