Reviews
"Staff are lovely! Sadly they don't have baskets but was able to use my own bag... prices are a touch high so I just try to shop offers here. Hoping the fridges are fixed soon! Thanks"
"Try to avoid visiting this store as the only times I have been in I’ve later realised I was overcharged, or the service is just very poor. Went in yesterday to find half the store empty (fridge sections), so asked an employee for help to which she didn’t even turn around to make eye contact, bluntly spouted out a brief ‘No’ and that was it. Most the time I go in here the staff are more concerned with eating, like taking advantage of the slushy machine near the till until I ask to be served. When the prices are so high in comparison to Tesco down the road, service and quality are key. They have neither."
"I never ever write reviews but i'm making an exception for the terrible service the staff here offer. I have never in my life experienced such rude and unprofessional shop workers. On multiple occasions i've been served by staff whilst they're on the phone to someone. I recently went in to hear the checkout worker swear at that fact people had come in just before closing. in addition ive also been shouted out for coming in when they're about to close. I could not rate the staff here any lower."
"Last time I went in it was a co-op and as with the agreement with transition some items seem to still be sold that are cooperative branded. Staff friendly and a good range of stock for a convenience stores; some good offers to be sought. Shop in need of stock replenishment & it’s a shame that the washing liquid tabs have to be stored away from customers due to high levels of theft but still that’s not the stores fault. Would return if in the area."
"This place used to be a Co-Op and, for a convenience store, it was a minor miracle: a fair selection of healthy & vegetarian food, plus all the gak (sugary stuff) you could hope for, but a decent choice of high quality gak... Haagen Dasz (sp?), Green & Black's, & I mean bottles of Purdey's, ffs! Now they don't even do Cadbury's Instant Hot Chocolate & only 1 flavour of Ben & Jerry's; vegetarian ready-meals? Don't make me laugh! No, the place has gone right down hill since McColl's took over. About the only thing I go in there for anymore is 50g pouches of tobacco & the only reason it gets 3* instead of 2 is because it's open from 07:00-23:00 every day. Oh yeah, & it's more expensive than the Co-Op was or the Sainsbury's Local nr the cinema is, it's just that walking all the way back, up the hill with groceries, from Sainsbury's is a real pain in the behind, back, legs & feet for a disabled person like myself who can hardly walk due to pain... so yeah, now you get why I've got a real bitterness on with McColl's!"
