"The Conkers crew are absolute artisans! I've been searching tirelessly for the perfect Chelsea boots forever. My criteria were admittedly stringent but Conkers exceeds all of them. I opted for the barefoot tire soles for a zero-drop, barefoot experience. They are quite thick for a typical barefoot sole but definitely meet zero-drop. The leather used is not too stiff, even for the first wear. I have very high-volume feet and not the daintiest ankles. The boots do not hug too tightly at any point on my foot. I can even get a good toe spread without having to move to a wide width. Not only are the boots pure art - the customer service is absolutely phenomenal! I received an email before the boots were made confirming my sizes and requirements on the boots. I did not request any customization but they did notice I'm located in the US and wanted to verify my sizes. Also, my shipping label got damaged during transit and the Conkers customer service was very diligent about making sure I was updated as real-time as possible. I look forward to a lifelong Conkers experience in my forever boots!"
"Got my shoes today and I love them. They're so comfortable on my feet. Got a red t-bar with cream stitching, thick sole and brass buckles. The red looks a bit more like an orangey/tangerine colour but it's still nice. I got the average width size (not extra wide). When I unpacked them at first glance they looked too big. I thought I'd made a mistake and should've gone a size smaller. Also the leather is so soft I wondered if they could stand up to the constant wear I'm gonna put them through. But when I tried them on the fit was so comfortable and looked great. I used to have a pair of leather shoes made of natural, recyclable materials. I wore them throughout many hot summers right through to autumn, and they kept my feet so cool. When they wore out I couldn't find anyone who'd repair them, so I spent many years searching for a similar pair of shoes and I've finally found it in these. They're very well made and of excellent quality too. I saved up long and hard for these man, so it's nice to get items I was expecting, and the company were nice people to do business with. To me these shoes are worth every penny. I'm gonna wear 'em out and hopefully have 'em for life because they can be repaired. JT"
"Sadly the shoe company lost their goodness. I ordered my shoes and emailed for a few times about my order but they had been ignored. I paid 260pounds and had been waiting for 10days without any responses. I had another pair of their boots which I bought 20years ago and the sole had damage very quickly and asked for re-soling but they said I have to pay another 80 pounds plus delivery fee. This shoes shop is for rich people. they can afford to ignore normal cutomers and treat people in a very rude way. I'll buy my shoes Vivo from now on. Stay away from them unless you are very rich"
"I bought two pairs of boots at the same time approx four years ago …… yes my feet were measured at the time of buying…. they are nubuck and have a tyre type tread for durability, the finish of the boots is good and look really comfortable but the problem is they so aren’t….. I was hoping that they would become wearable but oh no!…….. I think the problem lies with zero arch support and a shallow heel…… they weren’t cheap and to be honest being a bit of a shoe collector I can honestly say that these (both pairs) are the most uncomfortable footwear I’ve ever had and being that I’m 64 that’s quite an accolade, I like the shop and the staff are great but!…………"
"A year ago as a memento of living in Totnes I treated myself to some gorgeous, comfortable, stylish boots. They weren’t waterproof, and despite the brogue extra layer, my toes got wet in early morning dew. But I loved them. Within 6 months the super-soft comfy sole had worn through with no tread left. Conker generously offered half-price re-soling so I sent them off and opted for the more hard-wearing sole. After TWO MONTHS they were finally ready and posted back to me. Today after a 9 mile walk my feet are blistered and broken. I’m so utterly disappointed; I cannot believe I paid £285 plus £40 for resoling (plus the postage both ways!). Conkers are pretty occasional boots for rich people, not practical everyday footwear for plebs. I will be buying some Vivobarefoot boots as soon I can afford it. Anyone want to buy these off me?"
