"You can sit in a pod in the garden overlooking the Cove, playing your own music with heater. Food absolutely wonderful, the most lovely chowder, scallops with cheese and chorizo, . A meal for two with starters, beers and bottle of champagne £144. Superb. Seating a little uncomfortable but quirky. Superb service. Grand vista. Well worth a visit."
"Great food and atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive, kids first foray into unbreaded fish and crab went really well.... Sea Bass was superb and all cooked to perfection... will be back, might even move our base down there.... lovely place"
"Great location, nice food but can be looked after better This place looks very promising from the pictures. Indeed, the pods concept is brilliant as it can get very windy in this place. The view is breathtaking. The staff were very friendly and cheerful although it was difficult to get hold of them - we waited around 20-30 mins to pay for the bill and ended up paying at the till instead. However, they mentioned that the restaurant was understaffed when we arrived, so maybe it is not the norm. The portions were very large. We took fish and chips, soup and a salad, and could barely start the latter. The fish was fresh, the artichoke salad was well balanced. The food is definitely good value for money. For me, this place dropped two starts because the pods were not well maintained. When a place has something special that people come to see, it should be cherished and cared for - it did not come across this way. The windows were not clean and full of scratches. It was not pleasant to look through them. The cracks in the pod were full on dirt. The waiters had to put food on plastic chairs as they opened the door to the pod. I really hope that the management turns this place around - it is full of potential and just needs a bit better maintenance."
"Just been to this place for my birthday: At first I was a bit apprehensive about giving my card details for reservation of one of the pods and receiving a note to say that if you didn't show up or give more than 24 hours notice for cancellation you'd be charged £25 per head (£150 in my case). But fortunately all went ahead as planned and turned out to be a really great experience! Heating and Bluetooth speakers in the pods are a really nice addition, very cosy and can order without having to leave your pod, views are awesome! Portions were brilliant much better than any other place I've been to by the sea. I had been reading that this place was overpriced and the food not good, however I disagree, although it's not gourmet - I wasn't expecting that - but overall for the price I think the quality was reasonable... But the setting and the service were top class especially for winter time. The assistant manager Ben is a great guy and looked after us well. Would visit again! Thanks"
"We were really looking forward to our visit but left rather disappointed. The waiting staff were very good but I ordered a pulled brisket burger with bacon etc and it was practically inedible. I could have soled my shoes with the bacon. The jumbo fish fingers which we expected to look home made and a bit rustic just looked like a larger version of supermarket frozen ones. Some of the chips were also undercooked. All in all not great and not exactly value for money ."
