"Nestled in a small village, great setting and well prepared food. We ate here for a birthday lunch. The lamb shank was divine. Service was great as was the atmosphere. The meat and veg were well cooked. The sauce complimented the dish perfectly. Will definitely be eating here again."

"Don’t judge a book (or pub) by it’s cover! Almost decided to give this pub a miss as the exterior doesn’t do it justice. The inside is fabulous, though. Friendly staff and a cracking meal. Fish and chips, and BBQ Brisket burger. Not a cheap meal, but well worth it. Food was hot and delivered quite quickly. The most unusual chips I’ve ever had! Very nice too. Will definitely be returning here to sample the other things I couldn’t decide on, from the menu."

"I recently visited The Lopes Arms and overall, I had a positive experience. The atmosphere was lovely, it had a very welcoming and family-friendly vibe to it. The decor was simple yet cozy, and it made for a comfortable and relaxing dining experience. One of the highlights of my visit was the carvery. It was delicious, the meat was cooked to perfection and the gravy was rich and flavorful. The side dishes complemented the meal nicely and the portion was good for a regular eater, but not enough for someone who is a big eater. However, the only downside was that for the price, I did come out still feeling a bit hungry. I would recommend trying the carvery, but be aware that it may not be enough to fully satisfy a big appetite. In summary, The Lopes Arms provides a great family atmosphere, delicious carvery and friendly service. However, if you have a big appetite, you may want to consider ordering an extra dish or two."

"One thing you cannot fault here is the food. The brisket roast was to die for and so tender it fell apart so easily. Ide highly recommended the pigs in blankets and any extras you can afford, you won't regret it. If you're looking for a good hearty roast, look no further. The only thing that let this meal down was the wait time. I'm almost certain we were forgotten for a good hour before someone noticed and starters arrived. I'm assuming this isn't a regular occurrence because other tables around us definitely got multiple courses within this time. Regardless, I'll be back. I can't say no to that brisket."

"Wonderful Sunday roast here. Great selection available and food top quality. Serving staff also friendly and attentive. Only criticism for the owners or management is please get rid of the "You have to leave your card behind the bar" rule, it's the only pub/restaurant I've come across that does this and make it feel awkward having this in place. Surely have it as any other place where you pay at the end. Just a thought."
