"Laurence Springer is clearly a con man. He will botch the job and will waste your time and money. He uses multiple company names. A useless tradesman, a thief and a scammer. AVOID."
"WARNING - AVOID AVOID AVOID - TOTAL BODGE MERCHANT!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE LAURENCE SPRINGER - trading as Ace-Appliance Centre / Ace Domestics / Appliance Repairs / Appliance Doctor - based in Hampton/Twickenham. We have had a similar dreadful experience to the other reviewers. He destroyed our appliance. We called him to repair an appliance and he did a total bodge which made it far worse and would not come back to repair the appliance or give a refund. He claims he has the correct parts and charges you for them but just bodges the job, gets paid and does not return to repair his damage. As other reviewers have noted - he also tries to blame a “colleague” for work he did himself or claims that you must have spoken to a “colleague”. Don’t be fooled - you are solely dealing with Laurence Springer. Thanks to the other reviewers for posting their experiences, but it is also important to report him to TRADING STANDARDS who will investigate him. Also report him to CHECKATRADE – even though his listing was removed in 2020, they still log feedback for future reference. The good news is that if anyone is owed money by Laurence Springer for a bodge repair or parts you never received you can claim a full refund under THE CONSUMER RIGHTS ACT 2015. Talk to CITIZENS ADVICE about how to do this if you are unsure – it is free of charge. Note: The review is specifically for Laurence Springer. DO NOT TO CONFUSE Laurence Springer trading under the names shown above with other honest, reliable traders with similar company names. I have spoken to another trader with a similar company name who has had repeated calls from angry customers complaining about the bodge job that Laurence Springer has done on their appliances."
"If I could give no stars I would. After 4 weeks, no updates on when he’d back with the repair part even after ringing. Then made two appointments, both missed, with no apology, or indeed any call to say he’d be late or not coming. When asked when he would come, shouting, swearing, saying he’s got “better things to do”. Astonishingly poor communication, astoundingly rude, truly awful customer service. Seriously bad, as per every other review bar the one he wrote himself. Edit 29/09/20: Thanks Laurence for replying. It’s a pity you don’t remember me, I’m in Twickenham and I distinctly remember you. The fact you don’t recall, is just example of your terrible customer service."
"1* and here's the justification: poor customer service in every way - not just the lack of communication and inability to stick to appointment times but the quality of the work carried out, which was to fix an oven that's switching on but not emitting heat. We first used these services in November 2019 with no problem, then for a second time for the same issue at the end of March 2020. It strikes one as a bit odd to have an engineer back so soon. We then tried unsuccessfully to get a return visit due to the poor works at the beginning of April. I don't know how it's possible to need an oven fixed three times in the space of 5 months, by the same engineer who seems to be a one-man company, but maybe he isn't (see below). We had the oven "fixed" in March '20, due to a wire burning out. Not even 10 days later the oven stopped working again. Funnily enough, when using the contact number I got through to his "colleague", who informed me that he "thinks" missed our appointment for the second time our oven broke down because he was "away in Wales". You could at least let your customer know that you were going away the same morning you were meant to show up, not have us chase you for days at a time. It's a hard time for everyone but it's unfair to say you're coming so many times and then not do so. This is obviously at the beginning of 2020, where the whole country has been put on lockdown due to COVID-19, especially for unnecessary travel. We missed one appointment because we didn't hear the doorbell ring at all, but he left a card and asked for us to reconsider an appointment, in all fairness. However, he, or they, started avoiding the phone and ignored appointment requests. The last text message asking for a refund for the poor work done in March, which has almost comedically been 'delivered' but not 'read'. After trying to chase this business to come and fix our oven, I can summarise the experience: misleading us with excuses, no-shows, poor communication and wasting not only our time, but our money. In an economy where jobs have been devastated, I can safely advise others to steer clear from this dodgy operation."
"Poor customer service. I used this company (Ace Applicance Centre / Ace Repairs) to have a noisy washing machine fixed. Initially the service was good, Laurence came at the time agreed and replaced a washing machine part that he said was causing the problem. However, on using the machine later the noise came back again - even louder - so I contacted Laurence who said he'd come back, but he never did. I tried several times to arrange an appointment but he never came and in the end (after 4 days of not being able to do any washing) I called a different engineer who responded quickly and efficiently and has now solved the problem."
