"The staff are so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Bedworth leisure centre. Especially if you are a beginner."
"Took my son for swimming lessons here, the lessons were just hopeless. The teachers pulled him along (he's 5, not a toddler, if you pull him along and do it all for him he doesn't learn does he) I left it hoping things would improve as there were always different teachers too. But things didn't improve. The teachers are very nice, but don't know how to teach swimming. It was very frustrating to watch. I talked to another parent friend who's son had lessons elsewhere, they were teaching him phrases like 'cutting the dough' for breast-stroke arms, they didn't say anything in my sons lessons here at all, no tips.. no idea on his progress, was never informed. no certificates (apart from the initial one on his first session) so no motivation. After 4-6 months of weekly lessons, the teacher hadn't realised my son had not even put his head fully under water yet. When swimming on his back, he wasn't moving his legs properly to propel himself along - the teachers never noticed (or cared) about this so he would move about an inch.. instead of showing him what to do with his legs.. they just pulled him along the rest of the way. This happened almost every lesson so he never learnt!? In the end I cancelled our membership and went to a different place. Within weeks he improved! He can swim backwards lengths now and actually move instead of staying in one spot, with encouragement from the new teacher, he finally put his head under the water.. now he loves it and holds his breath for ages and swims underwater. He's gone from doggy paddle to proper front crawl arm movement too.. both things he learnt from the new place.. they hadn't even got him doing doggy paddle here. Another parent also moved her son from bedworth leisure centre to where my son is now in Coventry for exactly the same reasons. These 'lessons' would be more suited to toddlers getting used to the water.. not 4 years plus. They won't learn anything and you'll waste money and time where they could have been gaining confidence and learning skills elsewhere."
"Swimming lessons for my son are nice, nothing heavily planned as he’s under three. Mostly just enjoying the water and being comfortable in there. Tammy is lovely. Downside for me here is having to wait until 15 minutes before the lesson to be let into the changing rooms is not enough, especially when the parking can be a nightmare. Definitely not great with a toddler, and yourself to get ready and not considerate of this at all!"
"*Gym Review Only* The weights and machines are quite old and tattered - even rusty in some areas, but do what they're supposed too and in my opinion weight is weight so this does not affect me personally, but worth mentioning. Due to the neighbouring park, car parking can be a hassle after school time - sometimes outright impossible, if you're planning on driving there and can't get there before 3:30pm at the very latest you'll spend 10-20 minutes waiting for a spot every other day."
"Awful place! My son has been swimming here for 2 years! If he's not being pulled along he's walking across the pool and the teachers are telling him he's swimming! Lessons cancelled and they didn't tell me until I got there, manager is rude and when proven wrong she just ignores you, I've complained to head office and still got no where! Pulled my son out of these lessons and he's now thriving with a teacher would can actually teach! Don't make the mistake of going here!"
