"I did not stay in the hotel, however I have had breakfast in the lounge. I cannot recommend this more strongly. I have had the most amazing American coffee and a delicious English breakfast. The quality of the ingredients is fantastic. The ambiance and decor of the lounge is lovely. I will be staying in this hotel next time I visit London."
"Lovely hotel, in terms of the location, decor and service. We stayed 2 nights and were given a ‘quiet’ room. We booked a large room as the website and reviews make it clear the rooms here are very small. The quiet room we were given was fine, comfortable. It just didn’t have a window to outside with natural light which is what we were hoping for, and was a little smaller than we hoped for the description. We asked to be moved for the second night and were given a much nicer room. Although it was noisier it wasn’t enough to bother us. The lounge area is comfortable and the food is great. The little pantry areas where you can make yourself tea and coffee are a nice touch (I was worried about not being able to make a cup of tea!) All the service we received was helpful and efficient. We’d definitely stay again."
"Great location, literally a minute’s walk from Paddington Station. We booked the Large Room and found the size just nice for a family of three (2 adults and 1 child). Great coffee at the cafe downstairs. We weren’t really bothered by the lack of daily housekeeping as we are pretty neat people in general. Do note that the room does not have a kettle, though there’s a pantry on the second floor where you can get hot water. The bathroom is tiny, but the water was hot and the pressure was good. The window could be better, it didn’t block out noise from the street and the cold was getting in too. Other than that, it was quite a comfortable stay."
"Vibe was terrific, lounge gorgeous and breakfast brilliant. Here’s the but though! I was travelling with a friend and we booked the bunk room for two nights based on a recommendation I read in a travel article, and I saw the overall review rating for Pilgrim was a good 4 out of 5. Website does say bunk room is small, best suited to single person, or two good friends. Would recommend however it is not suitable for two adult friends, absolutely no room to move around, just a hook for a hanger so needed to leave folded clothes on the teeny floor space so we were stepping over clothes. And with a folded door to little en suite two feet away, for our modesty even good friends would need to use hotel toilets off foyer. More like a hostel bedroom but cost us more than £200 per night. Staff were so so warm and friendly, and I would definitely book again if travelling alone. But I would have welcomed a review alerting two friends against booking the bunk room. After the fact I could see the rating for the rooms is only 2.5 so it’s on me, I’ll know for the future. Kate xx"
"Lovely compact rooms and a delicious food menu for brunch the next day. The location is hard to beat for easy access to Paddington station and Hyde park. Loved the decor and the shower. The bed was super comfy and the room was quiet. Slept really well - though the rooms are as compact as you'd expect of an old building and the elevator is a squeeze for two with bags. The stairs are nicer!"
