"We went for the festive menu which is a good price. The starters were fine but not really exciting. I had the posh prawn cocktail and my husband had the pate. Both were fine and infact better than the mains. We both had the beef wellington which was deconstructed. So it was a bed of pastry stuffed with spinach and on top 8oz sliced steak with mushrooms. The special gravy was nice that it came with but the roast potators were floury and tasted like frozen ones. We could not eat them. The steak however was cooked to our liking and was quite tender. I asked for medium rare and my husband had medium which was what we wanted but the meal was not very hot overall. It would have been difficult to reheat without spoiling the steak. This meal was just OK as the mains a little disappointing. The service was speedy and efficient but not very festive."
"Went here recently, mid afternoon. Staff friendly, not too many people in the restaurant. Will go back x"
"The staff that served us was fantastic polite etc ease feeling. Compliments to the chefs food was perfect. Seating was spot on. We had the rack of ribs done to perfection. Thanks to everyone there."
"The staff were polite and professional. We were shown to our table and ordered drinks. We had time to look at the menu before ordering our meals. I had the Gammon Egg Pineapple and Chips with garden peas. It came on a hot plate and was very tasty."
"Staying in the premier inn for the next couple of weeks so we have to eat here as part of the deal with meal vouchers. this is the first beefeater I've been to. The staff are sound! Very helpful, friendly and welcoming. I can't complaint about them. But unfortunately the food is a huge let down. Every meal we had this week has been a massive disappointment. Burnt chicken, burnt and dry pork ribs. (Meat was stuck to the bone) and all bland in general. I doubt it's just this beefeater, I am guessing the food is pre made somewhere else and it's warmed up again on site? I don't know that's just a guess with how poor the quality of the food is. I'd be embarrassed to serve it if it's like that cooked it from fresh.. The breakfast is decent though, apart from having a soggy black pudding this morning the breakfast service is pretty good this week. Only other complaint is the dust on the lamps. They hang right over your table almost at head height and they're covered in thick dust, looks like they haven't been wiped for years. That's dead skin hanging above my food.. The only reason I'm eating here is because it's paid for by work. Even though it's free, it's still shockingly disappointing.."
