"I write on behalf of my mother, Jean Watts who booked a 4 night, 5 festive break at the Copthorne hotel Plymouth, 23rd - 27th December 2022. The problem started even before she left her home in that even after several phone calls and other communications she never received her luggage labels or travel instructions. We understand that the postal strike had something to do with this. However, I called the office a few days before her departure and was told that her instructions would be left on the seat of the coach. This didn’t happen! Obviously other travellers had the same problem, as when swapping from one coach to another there were no labels on the suitcases. This created a huge time delay whilst the driver tried to establish which case belonged to whom. Upon arriving at the hotel and being given the keys to her room she establish that the walk-in shower she was promised and confirmed on her booking form wasn’t there and she had a bath. Mum is 92 years old and finds it extremely difficult to climb in and out of a bath. She arrived at dinner at 6:45 pm However, her meal didn’t arrive until 815pm and was cold and badly plated. this was due to the fact that the hotel was very short of staff, and even the managers were clearing plates which meant that all meals were delayed and often served cold. Her return journey was nothing short of a nightmare as she left the hotel at 10 a.m and arrived in Clevedon at 6.10pm (8 hours to complete a 100 mile journey) she then had to wait a further hour for her taxi home. All of this has left her exhausted and positive she would never book or recommend Bakers Dolphin again."
"Company are happy for their drivers to use their phones and read paperwork whilst driving! Driver still working for them even though incident was on CCTV and driver admitted it. Probably be safer on the Smiler ride at Alton Towers to be honest."
"Paid for School Transport service is appalling. They mistakenly sent children a notification to tell them to get into a BMW rather than their school bus. They didn't bother to tell users it was a mistake and when contacted they just say "well if you have lost faith in the service you can cancel and we will refund". They have a monopoly and so any safeguarding concerns can be met with this response. When the bus brakes down you have to rely on the children to let you know and just have to make your own arrangements. There app doesn't work and never shows where the bus is as they say it will (often the bus is vey late due to traffic), but they have no incentive to fix it, they know you probably have no alternative. If you have any alternative then avoid their very expensive school bus service."
"Just in Padstow Cornwall having a delicious breakfast sat outside when one of your coaches turns up reg no BU18YMF & sat there 10 minutes with the engine running choking us with diesel fumes, do you pay only 80p a litre for diesel? seems like your driver likes over polluting the environment for sure totally unnecessary. Matter been reported to VOSA & DVSA ."
