"This hospital needs putting under special measures as its currently not a safe Environment. so many S.O.P's designed to keep you safe are broken, The abuse towards myself and others here are beyond words they also discriminate. I don't wish to comment on the specifics here until my complaint has been Investigated by an external team and resolved.. my only advise is to head a few miles down the road to Coventry."
"I was in A&E yesterday after being bitten quite badly twice by a dog. All the staff were really helpful. I was in for 1 hour 45 mins which I thought was pretty amazing considering how busy it was and how under pressure they were. Very grateful to be able to be seen. Great work, thank you."
"My review is based on my experience of the gastroenterology unit of GE hospital. Nine months after being referred to GE I have a one minute long conversation with a doctor on the phone and one test undertaken. The conversation was so short I had no time to explain my condition and I was left feeling the doctor did not take the time to understand or care about me. The staff that did my test we’re great, however I had to wait three months for this test and almost another three months for the results. These results would not be given to me on the phone so I was left waiting and worrying. After waiting almost three months my appointment to speak with the doctor was cancelled a week before and moved from November to April. I only got my results after running up again after this and have been given no advice or medication to help me manage my condition for a another five months until my next appointment. At which point no doubt I will have another two minute conversation on the phone with the doctor and be sent for more tests that will be another three months away and then wait another three months for the results. I feel totally let down by the care I have received and left at a loss of what to do. My condition is getting worse and it seems nobody at GE care. I left trying to get private health care but I can’t afford it, I may have to go into debt to try and get help as my mental is in the gutter from living in pain and anxiety for a almost a year."
"The care of the staff was second to none. However the organisation was awful. Having stayed with my mother in A&E until 8am in the morning and being up over 24 hours I was told that she was being admitted so I cancelled her carers and went home to sleep. They then called at 11.30am to say they had changed their minds and she was being discharged. I got up to discover that they were discharging her via ambulance as I hadn't answered my phone. My mother has dementia, her care was cancelled and they were basically going to take her home with nothing in place because I dared to go to sleep. When I spoke to them they said social care "wasn't their problem". Joyful. So they were going to leave a 91 year old lady alone without care after falling for the second time in two weeks and no one was in know and this apparently was my fault. Not impressed."
"On Thursday my husband Stefan went to George Elliot hospital. He has severe copd. Whilst in the reception a lady named Sue came to help him. She got him a wheelchair, took him to audiology and then back to his car. What a wonderful caring person. Thank you so much. Val Poole."
