Ashfield Hotel 95 New North Road, Huddersfield HD1 5ND

"As a short-term stay the hotel sufficed. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was simple to use and refreshing. No breakfast included, but you have a smallnkitchen which includes a microwave and fridge. The only complaint I have is that the batteries in the TV remote needed replacing. The hotel has some very nice touched, including art decor pieces."

"I arrived here in desperation in regards to needing a hotel room for the night hoping it’d at least be an acceptable experience. for a starter my reception was a ring door bell and a old fashion telephone sat beside it, upon finally emailing them pictures of my ID I got into a room that looked absolutely nothing compared to the pictures, the signal was dreadful so I could barely even accept a phone call and there was a horrible smell entering the room from some where. There was milk left on the side in the warm room so it’d be off and the door locks felt as flimsy as an A4 piece of paper. We ended up leaving within 15 minutes of being in the room and I asked for a refund and they just hung up on me. Poor customer service, poor rooms would’ve rather have slept in the back seat of my car"

"I use hotels every week for work. These came up online. I booked 3 days and they got the dates wrong booking me in a day before I needed this. I enquired about it his and I was told it was my fault. I sked for them to offer a solution to this as I would be finishing work at 8am and wouldn't be checking out at midday. I wcalled the hotel several times and they told me they would escalate this matter to management. I must have called at least 10 times to get this sorted but to no avail. The next day I rang again and I was told I would have to pay for the extra day. Having no choice I agreed to make the payment. They wouldn't take payment over the phone and they said they would srt this out in the morning. When I got to the hotel in the morning there was no one available for me to speak to or pay as the on-site staff member was asleep. I went to the room and had. Shower and went to sleep. At 10am I was told I would have to vacate the room by midday. This was upsetting as I had made an agreement with their management (apparently. ) I explained this to them and I asked them to speak to their management. Half an hour later a guy came and knocked the door. Told me I had to leave otherwise he would call the police. I did not like this and this guy wasn't listening to anything I was telling him. These guys running this hotel is a joke. I definitely will not use again and will not recommend."

"The room is spacious with a nice flat screen TV. There was no fan but the room was cool enough. There was left over can and biscuits wrap behind the bed and lamp table. Need a bit of cleaning as there was cobweb and spider. Above all the positive side we were called just to know if we were still coming as it was getting to late and we were eventually welcomed by the manager who gave us the room keys and warmth welcome. The location is perfect not far from the city center."

"The place is misunderstood as there isn’t much staff on site. For the price you cannot beat it. Bed was comfortable. Room was a good temperature. If you have just a slight bit of patience for the check in, it will pay off with comfort and value"
