"I rang to make an appointment with a doctor at 8.30am the lines were busy until someone answered at 9.25am to tell me there were no appointments available, I felt really ill and had been hanging on for nearly an hour, the receptionist told me to either try again at 1pm or ring back at 8.30 the next day, I tried at 1pm and was hanging on until 1.30 and again told there’s no appointments, the receptionist was polite and empathetic but there was nothing she could do, and I was in tears because I felt so ill, she told me I could ring 111 so I did, 111 assessed me and said I needed to be seen within 12 hours, they sent a referral to Ashcroft surgery and told me to ring Ashcroft again and tell them, they’d sent a referral and I had to be seen, I told 111 that Ashcroft were adamant there were no appointments, they said that Ashcroft have to keep some appointments aside for such referrals and that to ring them and they must see me, so I rang Ashcroft only to be told the same thing, referral or not there’s no appointments, they told me to come down to surgery the next day for 8.10am and I’d be seen …so I did and waited from 8am until 10.30 to be seen …the surgery itself is run down and filthy, the toilet had no paper towels in, or any way to dry your hands and the bin in there is disgusting …the whole place is run down, the doctors printer didn’t work either. …it should NOT be so difficult to make an appointment or to even get through on the phone lines! (the answer machine says why not use the e consult service online? the e consult service is always switched off!) …but in my case I actually needed to see a doctor, and 111 said that I needed to be seen that day…the doctor advised me to write to the practice manager and also my MP with my concerns….the doctors are very good once you get to see one."
"I had nail surgery and came in for a bandage change i asked the receptionist nicely not realising she was on her phone that which room do i go in to be seen and she just loudly spoke "I'm on the phone"!!!!!!! She was so rude that some person in the waiting room advised me nicely where i should go. This is just disgusting behaviour!!!!!!!"
"So yesterday and today i have spent a total of 1 hours and 47 minutes trying to make an appointment for bloods doing. An appointment they they sent me a text message to make. Although once through the receptionist was courteous and helpful, the wait to be answered in unacceptable, I have been a patient at this doctors since it used to be a little cabin in undercliffe and can honestly say the service is getting worse. Come on practice managers, get your practice in order"
"Wed 8/11/2022 Just spent 18 minutes on the phone trying to get an appointment for my 6 year old. The receptionist I spoke to was very pleasant but unfortunately couldn't offer an appointment and advised me to ring back at 08:30(I take my child to school at 08:30) in the morning and I might get an appointment for next Wednesday. This is a very poor service"
"Absolutely disgusted with the receptionists, I’ve been hung up 40+ times now and I desperately need my bloods running. Last time I called them they weren’t accepting any patients and sent me to the emergency doctor who sent me to a&e despite me saying on countless occasions I had already been to a&e and they are the ones who need to run my bloods and do an ultrasound on my heart and chest. I do not in anyway shape or form blame the doctors and nurses who work there, the majority are genuinely sweet people it’s just appalling receptionists."
