"We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday party at the Star and Garter and couldn't have been happier. They set up a long table for us in the back of the restaurant to fit our group of 20. There was plenty of space, the food was great and everyone had a fabulous time. Special shout out to the fantastic team who looked after us so well. They were professional, courteous and attentive throughout the whole evening. I'd definitely recommend this place for special occasions."

"We went here for our works Christmas party, and although the food I had was very tasty - camembert to start, rib of beef for main. When we went upstairs to the function room, the stairs had clearly not been hoovered for a very long time! There was a Christmas tree in the room which was lovely, but no christmas table decorations , and most disappointingly there were no Christmas Crackers. Its not really a Christmas party without a little paper hat on. We would have been better off having a couple of tables in the restaurant and eating off the main menu for better value and better atmosphere."
