"Lovely experience! Came in last week and had a cheese and ham toastie and partner had a tuna melt toastie! Nice environment. Great place to refresh after walking round the park. Will definitely be visiting again!"
"Very basic offerings with incredibly slow service - 30 minutes to do one toastie despite not being that busy. The staff are inefficient and there are no smooth processes to get anything done amongst them - needs a good manager giving them a shake-up, some training and clear working strategies. Its such a shame this establishment is so poor, given the fabulous location and building - it really could be a real winner. Now - the cheese and tomato toastie - which needs a very special mention. I laughed out loud, as did my family, when opening the box containing this long-awaited toastie. I have no idea what this was pressed under (possibly run through a mangle a few times ? Or a victorian printing press) and for how long it was pressed for (there is crisp and there is dried to the texture of dog meal) , but it was the thinnest example imaginable of a toasted sandwich. I held it up and just couldn't stop laughing- it was staggering how compressed the bread was, I would say the thickness of a credit card. If you've even seen a 'stroop waffle' , this was comparable but with less filling. Where was the cheese? I didnt taste any, or see any, so I can only presume that the long term high pressure and heat had caused the whole lot to leak out. I was therefore left with about 4 or 5 tiny pieces of tomato (in total maybe 1/4 of a tiny tomato) the size of a small finger nail inside the hardest thinnest flattest baked cardboard-type 'driven over many times' outter. I wish I'd taken a picture, but to be honest after the long wait for this epic culinary failure, I was so cold sitting outside I just wanted to get moving."
"Great little cafe always a pleasant visit when we nip in . Would definitely recommend."
"Had the big breakfast and left with big disappointment, and leather like bacon digging into my gums. Toast arrived stone cold, the sausages were bland and tasteless with the outsides tougher than leather. The bacon was burnt on the fat and the meat was so well done and dry a fork would stick into it. The cafe has lovely views over the park and the staff are friendly. Avoid the breakfast menu though."
"Ordered 2 hot chocolate drinks and waited 15 mins at the counter to receive said drinks. Waited less time for a 3 course meal. Hot chocolate was nice...but for £ 3.30 each it should have been"
