"First year in covid was probably the best I experienced in education and that’s saying something as Covid was a horrible time after Covid there was little to no mental health support tutor was arrogant and belittling they encouraged ambition the teacher mix personal life with there work life they are to opinionated and have little respect for your opinion they are understaffed And don’t know how to deal with a simple problem between students. I’ve been told I’m to ambitious and know numerous people who have been disrespected by the tutors"
"Don't wven bother wasting your time. They're management skills lack in every place and they will such the fun and creativity out of the creative arts you aspire to make. None of the teachers are punctual, there's next to no support fir those with impairments or other underlying issues. I don't understand how this place passed the last offstead inspection if my entire class complained about individual problems. And yet again we were ignored and the college won a battle. While the little man was silenced again."
"Access creative college is one of the most ableist colleges I have ever applied to. They give no mental health support or physical disability support. They don't even give secondary to collage transitions support without having to fight for it and even then you'll only be offered a day. You are immediately expected to perform in front of a class of 30 people from day one no matter your circumstance (regarding music tech). This is genuinely one of the least accessable colleges contrary to its name. I would recommend everyone to stay as far away from it as they can. College can be a hard time for anyone especially after the transition from GCSES but they simply do not care about that. I can not express how saddened I was with this collage and I can promise I will never be going and that was just after applying. I am just disappointed in Access I really thought it could have been a good place for me to go."
"my application for a Music Performance Level 3 was rejected based on being too high care needs, when never claimed to require any strenuous support. On the mention of tics (involuntary movments and speech) they clearly immediately decided i wasn't palatable enough and denied me. They did reconsider my application under the rules that i would access absolutely no mental or physical support. They also would've expected me to preform infront of 30+ people from the get go which due to my autism i would have needed a small build up to this, which would've been completely self contained within my own decisions. I obviously understand sometimes my needs can't all be met as a disabled person due to funding but to deny my any support after appealing my rejection where they didn't even disclose any of the basis on why my support needs could not be met, they simply could have done better. I am in disbelief that after my interview when they posed themselves as so progressive and welcoming, especially with their building being so accessable and calming visually, that they would treat a physically and mentally disabled person like this."
"What on earth are all these 1 star reviews about? I did my diploma back when it was called "Access To Music" and it was one of the best experiences I've had! I learned so much in those two years, met amazing people and gained so much knowledge from the fantastic tutors I got the pleasure of meeting. I got to experience performing live at events, learned production tips I'd never have picked up elsewhere and used equipment that is far out of reach for my budget! I am so glad I went to Access as it was a wonderful two years that I will never forget!"
