"The school is crumbling, yet another year of barely any change. The school can't afford glues and offer accessories needed for our education. That ain't entirely the school's fault but it is a massive problem. The school's firewall has caused problems to our internet a few times. The school can't keep up with the amount of money it spends in repairs and etc. The bell system is complicated and not safe. The fire bell is nearly exactly like the bell for the end of lesson, except it lasts longer. We sit in the classroom for a certain amount of time before we realize it's the fire bell, not the end of lessons. Who knows what would happen if it was a real fire? The main health and safety risk is the fact that there is asbestos in the walls of H block. If the wall 'breaks' the asbestos will leak into some of the H block classrooms possibly contaminating students if it happens during school hours. The school report card system is too strict, if you get 3 crosses over the course of the week (out of 3 ticks a lesson) you get an after school detention. I think it should be 3 crosses in a lesson or over the course of the day. The asbestos however is possibly because of how old the certain block is, old enough for some of the materials in the wall to decay and create asbestos, but it's still a concern... The school cares too much about uniform regulations, they implemented a uniform card. These cards were quite strictly used at the start of the year. If a part of your shirt was not tucked in, a signature on your uniform card, if your skirt was rolled up a tiny bit because it's too long, signature on your uniform card. If you got 3 or 4 signatures on your card, you would've got an after school detention, which is quite absurd. They should've been much more lenient about these cards... The uniform cards now are barely used. It's like the staff forgot about them. No-one brings them to school, (I haven't had mine on me for 3 months) no teacher signs them... Just useless, no point in having them anymore. (Don't bring them back into use either.) However, there are good qualities of the school, the school rarely witnesses bullying and acts well to cases of bullying. The school has great ranges of GCSE options to pick. Unfortunately, we can only pick 3 since Sociology is mandatory for us. However, I personally find Sociology fun, but it as an option would be more preferred. The school has many great teachers that really care about how the student progress in their GCSE's and try their best to help the students get better grades overall. But, this is quite masked, surprisingly. Short things short; The school needs to be more lenient and to improve to create more good qualities and like-ability for the school."
"Very helpful and caring staff who have the interests of the students at the top of their agenda. They are a credit to their profession."
"im a student here and its not a very good school, PE is the best subject and even some teachers in PE are terrible! some teachers are helpless, when there was an incident between two students of this school the teachers did nothing! it happened on the coach on the way home and the school did nothing to the bully and did nothing to help the victim. the school also doesn't help all people who aren't as good at learning as others, they kicked one student out of school and he hasn't had much of an education since! they had it all against the student and this could affect his future as they didn't give him an education, it was a student who was good at all subjects and I think will get far. so I believe its a bad school!!!!!!!! if you get the chance to go to a different school I say do it! Teachers need to learn to be able to actually teach and do what thy get paid to do! Aren't teachers supposed to help students? Get the best grades possible? Well at this school you won't! Posted outstanding in 2009 that's all they brag about it hasn't happened since has it? It is a sad excuse for a school and some people are to blind to see it! Don't go here, unless you want to be... Bullied.... Fail exams... Get a useless education.... Not get a job for the rest of your life! It's such a bad school words don't describe I hope I have helped you out :) thanks!"
"Alright place... I would perhaps want a continental breakfast everyday but what can you do? I like the departments especially Science. The espionage and assassination A/S and A level is definitely not up to scratch but you can blame the government for that. Also there is no current Jam Tuesday as there was in my old school in Bhutan. All in all however a thoroughly nice sort of place not aesthetically but on a personal level."
"As a parent I would NOT recommend this school. I have had a PE teacher call my son and other students names. I have had unbelievable incidents of bullying by teachers towards my son and experiences of being patronized myself. Teachers not bothering to turn up for important sixth form lessons then penalizing my son for not handing work in (he was there the teacher wasn't). Not to mention the disproportionate amount of criminal proceedings against staff over recent years. Thank goodness both my sons have left...onwards and upwards."
