"What a fantastic experience. We went for an afternoon tea with a difference - so yummy. Free-flowing coffee or tea Open toasted cheese and crayfish bagel Steak and grenadine onion brioche, a touch of mustard Handmade warm sausage roll Cinnamon-sugared mini jam doughnuts Strawberry toasted marshmallow skewers with a chocolate dip Scones, Cotted Cream and Jam Amy was so professional - a very friendly approach and made us feel very special. Big thumbs up from us - Thank you Bourgee - we will be back very soon xx"
"After following this place online for a while we decided to chance our arm and try to walk in for a late lunch when in the area. The staff were very friendly and seated us straight away. We missed the afternoon tea and lunch menu but they were accommodating of our request to get multiple sides and starters to share with some wine as we had dinner booked later in the evening. The food was amazing but took over and hour to serve 3 starters and 2 sides which was just too long a wait - we did check with them several times but just kept getting told it was coming “soon”. There was only 2 other tables seated in the restaurant during our visit and a lot of front house staff but perhaps the kitchen was short staffed. That said the staff all were friendly and when the food did arrive it was delicious and probably worth the wait. I Would definitely go back to try here again but not as a walk in - I’d make a booking this time!"
"My friend and I had dinner last night. The service staff were great and couldn't do enough for us. The expresso martini was delicious! Starter was full of flavour and light, like I wanted and the lobster in garlic was lovely. Only recommendation would be to have lemon wipes for hands after lobster and a bowl/plate for the shell. Looking forward to coming back."
"We visited for afternoon tea during the week on a Groupon offer, having never been before. We were really impressed. We asked if there was a vegan option for us and the staff were really helpful. They didn't have a vegan afternoon tea menu but the kitchen improvised and we had a lovely meal. I would definitely go back based on our experience. The food was tasty as well!"
"Waste of money! We were in Lakeside today, so decided to try it out. We were (not) greeted by a very grumpy staff. No problem, everyone can have a bad day. I asked her, can we have a high chair please? She said, yes, it is by the toilet, you can get it! Never in my life I have heard this, where a staff asks the customer to get a high chair himself. No problem, maybe its the new world norm. Ignored it. Ordered our food, and the starters arrived promptly. I must admit, they were really good. Highly recommended. However, our host forgot to bring a glass of water thrice! We waited for more than an hour, for our main course. Finally it arrived. The lobster was overcooked, rather rubbery and tasteless. My wife ordered a linguine, which just tasted like pasta dipped in Tabasco sauce. Utter rubbish. I wanted to ask for the chef, and I wanted them to try it. But thanks to Covid, I had to bury the idea. Overall a really disappointing experience, and definitely not worth £136. For a similar cuisine, I would go back to Big Easy. Any day."
