Unum will decline you on there terms and conditions policy when they don’t show the terms and condition when you take out the policy all they want to know is the details and age of person you are insuring and for how much no questions were asked regarding prior illnesses. "It is Dick Girling, not Richard. I have just read Rohan Nair's review of Milton Court. I joined NEL in 1960 and went to Milton Court in 1966. The grounds were lovely then and I am glad they still are. Our meals were free in those days, we had a putting green, tennis courts, fishing, etc. So many lovely memories and friends. Have just completed 28 years of retirement following 28years of working for NEL/UNUM. Thanks to all who continue to work at Milton Court, and I pray God's blessing on you all."

"How does one talk about a workplace without talking about oneself? Well I'm not about to try. I spent a few weeks away from the beloved big city - so close yet oh so far from here! - working at Unum and living in Dorking. It's a beautiful place to work, newly refurbished floors with coloured seating areas and laptops that connect without a hitch to large screens and multiple monitors. Downstairs the canteen with its subsidised hot food - that goes around the world with Jambalaya one day and Biryani the next, yet somehow stays resolutely, sweetly English - and 80p cappuccinos and 95p lemon mousses. I regularly found myself needing that walk around the grounds to digest all that! And thinking that on another afternoon, in clothes other than a business suit and without the imminence of a 2pm status update I could imagine myself ruminating, thinking creatively and expensively, about getting away from this life, about travelling in some country other than this, about writing about it all, on these walks around the Unum campus with the Surrey Hills rising all around, Dorking's church spire at one side and the slow train wailing past in the near distance. Oh Unum. One day, much older, I'll perhaps look back at these weeks spent working here, in these most pleasant of English environs. Or perhaps I won't."
