"8 Months and still no completion for my bridge purchase. I am currently purchasing a property using a bridging loan and I instructed this firm at the beginning of November 2020, everything was going smoothly but the communication started to slack as it got closer to December. As I wasn't receiving a response I then started to reach out to other recommended staff in the firm to provide an update, this continued until January 2021, three months on and my bridge had not been completed. I continuously emailed and called throughout the last 2 weeks of January and then the following first two weeks in February before another solicitor in the firm had notified me that my acting solicitor had left, I later found out that my acting solicitor leaving the firm was known to them yet they did not make any arrangements to pass my case to another solicitor prior to her leaving. I was told by the second acting solicitor that she would progress my case however again the same result no communication and me having to chase her along with other staff in the firm. It was 6 weeks before a 3rd solicitor had then picked up my case and taken over, this now brought us to the end of March. I had wanted to instruct another solicitor but the lender who recommended Phillip Ross advised that it was best to stay with them. I found out that a legal undertaking had not been completed until January 2021 meaning that from November 2020 to Jan 2021 the lender's legal representative had not been in communication with Phillip Ross meaning no legal work was done for 3 months and I was being strung along that whole time. My valuation was due to expire at the end of April but I was informed at the end of March that the case would complete by then, we're now in June and the paperwork issued I have been told is incorrect. Had this not been a purchase from a family member I would have lost this property, this company is worse than a back street firm. Poor service Poor communication I am absolutely fed up. I am not a person to write reviews, it's taken me 8 months of a painstaking process before writing this but I think the public should know what type of company they are dealing with. I've made exceptions for covid and also the stamp duty deadline but neither are good enough excuses. Please do not use this firm, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere."
